best performing spring & sway package

Hi guys I have read so many threads on springs and sways but not together. I want the best handling package I can get for under 2000 I. Am not worried about ride quality I want the car to corner as flat as can be. I do not mind a stiff ride I actually prefer it. I am used to the handling of my Z06 I know I need coil overs later but I want to get as close as I can now. I would love to hear from people with these setupss and from vendors a like as I want a system designed to work together. Thank yo for your help

If you've got close to $2000, I would say save a little bit longer and do it right the first time with coilovers and swaybars. I understand the money issue, but if you get springs, sways, alignment, and installation unless you do it yourself you've got a pretty good chunk of change tied up. If you plan to do coilovers later on you'll have to pay for another installation and alignment.
I just got the Pfadt sport sways and coilovers and installed them myself and all I can say is wow. I lowered it about an inch give or take and put the rear bar in the middle setting for now. I drove around a while with the coilovers set at 10 of 20 and the ride was nice and what I felt to be like stock, they call that setting sporty street. Then with a click of a knob I went to 14, their track day setting and I think I like that even more. It is quite firm but not brutal, the balance is perfect. I went to a couple empty parking lots and tried some fast and hard turns and man did it stick, no drama, no squeal, no lean, it just went.
I've got another autocross coming up in two weeks and can't wait to feel the difference. I don't know if this helped, but just my 2 cents.

PfadtThank you for your input, I am going to go for the springs and sways hoping that shocks will be out by summer. So you like the Phadt products do you know which is firmer Phadts setup or Pedders?

Like 1977and2010 said, if you have $2000 you have the cash for a set of coilovers. The best engineered spring and sway bar package for these cars is the Pfadt Sport Suspension Packages in my opinion.

I don't work for pfadt, just a customer. I have not tried the pedders springs, so I can't comment. I did have their sway bars (solution b) and decided to go a different direction and couldn't be more happy with the pfadt sways. I do still have the pedders radius bushings, diff bushings, and subframe bushings that are working well.

I have the MTI racing Big Red sway bars and lowering springs. I love them, night a day difference in feel, cornering, and visually the stance of the car with the springs.

MTI makes good stuff. We don't currently carry them but that may soon change.

It depends who you ask.

Give the throttle a stomp and the rear does not squat like before, play in the corners with no front end push. All I can say is the ride back to NY was alot of fun and for some reason alot quicker than the ride to Mass????
To Rob at Wretched Motorsports:
Your service and customer service was nothing less than exceptional!!!
Thanks for everything!
P.S. To Pete your assistance and advise was both honest and amazing. If only all US companys treated thier customers like this maybe we would'nt be where we are today.

It all comes down to if you want understeer or oversteer. Solid or hollow bars don't make the difference. The strength of the bar and the front to rear ratio of the bars are the key factors. Here is a listing of bar strengths. We specifically do not name names because we believe each company should publish the strength of their bars and not just a percentage.

The Camaro5 community is well informed. You can add and subtract to determine which bar is the strongest, but be sure to watch the front to rear strength ratios as it has the most influence on understeer / oversteer. Competitor D has the strongest front bar and a relatively light rear bar. This setup will have the most understeer of all that are available.

Pedders Solution C has the second strongest front bar and the strongest rear bar by a large margin. This setup will have the least understeer and at speed it will be in oversteer. Solution C would be a great setup for a person that loves twisties / road racing.

Our sway bars now ship with what we consider to be the best Camaro endlink available. The reason we USED to require drilling to open up the holes in the strut and lower control arm was to have a ball stud and shaft that were stronger than the OE and efficient enugh for Pedders sways bars. We have now sourced an exceptionally efficient endlink ball joint that is also strong enough to meet our criteria WITHOUT drilling.

To get the most out of any sway bar upgrade you should be upgrading your endlinks. Pedders sway bars with the NEW STYLE ENDLINKs are in stock and shipping at the old price. We will be selling these eXtreme endlinks to use with OE bars or brand-x bars at about $60 more per pair than the old style links. That will push the price of a front and rear sway bar set up roughly $120 making the current pricing a Best Buy.

Pedders coils trade at a premium price and with good reason.

The key to Pedders spring excellence is manufacturing quality typified by precision in loaded height tolerance. Typical in the industry is a loaded height variation of +/- 15mm of roughly 5/8s of an inch. Pedders thinks that is unacceptable. Pedders lowering coil tolerance is +/- 1mm. Pedders load cell verifies EVERY SportsRyder coil we make to meet this standard. Coils that do not 'measure up' are sent to the scrap metal recycling yard which is as unusual as our +/- 1mm tolerance.

Brand -X Coils

Pedders Coils

They are a modest drop and will work exceptionally well with the OE dampers. If you want to go lower we believe that Xa coilovers are the correct solution.

We think the OE engineers are bright guys. They designed a highly progressive 5th Gen bumpstop so that when the suspension compresses into the bumpstop the motion is smooth and controlled resulting is a high level of ride quality. Cutting the bumpstop makes the bumptop less progressive which is stating the obvious and there is no need to describe the result. With a Pedders set of coils you will not have to cut bumpstops.

What you are paying for is premium quality and premium performance and premium ride quality. You should select the slightly higher rear coil to deliver the best possible lowering coil ride the 220032 and 220035. If you like the more European look the 220033 is the right rear coil.

Now if we can talk about coilovers we can help you be faster than your Z06

Hey JohnnyrSS, as people have generously mentioned, when you want results on the track, our products have the track record to prove it. Most importantly, we engineer components to work together. Check out the results of the official Camaro5 Fest autocross, where all suspensions were represented, and only Pfadt suspensions took victories.

The fastest Camaro at the Camaro5Fest competition. Flat Cornering. Victory.

Torq's winning run (street tire class):

If its road course duty you are intending on, again Pfadt is the only (commercially available) suspension company featured on 2010 Camaro race cars in national competitions. We have some big news coming up soon of exactly who will be using our full suspension packages in 2011. For now, check the video below of when we set a track record at Brainerd International Raceway in minnesota. This isn't any sunday drive around a track.

And as I am sure you saw in the video Chase posted, we show before and after on a STOCK car exactly what you get with our products. No blue smoke and mirrors. Give us a call if you have any questions. I wont repeat any info already posted here.

Big thanks to everyone who posted up about our products.
