Clear car bra

Has anyone got the 3M film installed, the dealer does it in-house, I heard good things about XPEL but would prefer to have it done before I pick the car up.

Thanks

I have the 3M on my car. It looks great. I got the whole front end done and windows tinted with a reputable installer for the price the dealer was going to charge just for the grill area and no window tint.

Good point, I had pricing from 2 installers in the area but I'm not sure what the dealer wants to charge.

Did you wax the car once you had it done.

Just got mine back today. Windows and clear bra. Checkout the pics I just posted on "wax on...wax off".

No, I haven't waxed the car yet. I decided to let the clear bra cure (dry out) first. It's been about two weeks, so I'm about ready to wax it now.

I also did the 3M Crystalline 90 film on the windshield. What a great way to block UV all the way around.

Indeed 3M Crystalline is simplly the best tint on the market imo. If you want to go dark its nots for you. Darkest they make is 40% which is plenty dark imo.
I went 50% all around and 70% on the front. As far as clear bra Xpel Ultimate self healing is incredible.

Looked at a black GTR yesterday and I could see the line very clearly, although for some reason it was a half hood job,,,,weird.

What is 3M chrystalline? In my state windshield tint is illegal. Does this film darken the windshield noticeably? Be nice to find a UV blocker that doesn't darken much..

Google 3M Crystalline for detailed info, but the 90 only blocks 10% light. If you don't know that there is tint on the windshield, you would never notice it. Great interior protection.

That is smart, do not install anything for at least 30 days to let the paint dry good.

I am going to wax first after 30 days then install the bra. That's what she said

I was told you shouldnt wax before installing the clear bra. The installer told me this. They have to prep the surface before the install anyhow

Clear bra/paint protection film

XPEL Ultimate appears to be a very good paint protection product
and an option/alternative to the 3M product.

XPEL is "self healing" and has a 10 year warranty.
