Automatic shifting issue...or not?

Anyone else with a V6 automatic feel the sharper shifts at lower RPM's?

Seems like if I accelerate slowly (normally), the car kind of has a hesitation. It doesn't bother me as long as I know this is normal.

When I'm cruising over 50 and accelerate, I feel nothing other than more speed. And if I really stomp on it, I hardly feel a thing.

Just checking...

I'm having trouble understanding what you're trying to describe here...

I guess what I'm saying is that if I'm at a red light and the light turns green...I'm trying to get to about 40 MPH...when I press on the gas, the car accelerates nicely, then when it hits about 2500 RPM, I can feel it shift, and the RPM's drop a little... I can feel it. Should I be feeling it? Should it be smoother?

Basically I want to know how smooth it should be shifting...I think.

Please tell me this is not your first car? When a car shifts the RPMs are SUPPOSED to drop.... lol

Yes, you should feel the shifts! Actually the more you feel the better! A nice firm shift is actually better/easier on the tranny than a long (basically slipping) smooth shift...

That makes the most sense. Now that I think about it, it does feel like I'm probably in 6th gear and then dropping.

How do you guys use Sport...can you just drive around town with it in Sport and not use the shifters? I kind of like how that feels, but am nervous about driving it around like that.

took me a minute to figure it out. am doing like 50 miles per hour and a punch it and i get hardly anything.

and using sport mode in town will only use more gas. should really only use it in race type environments, but yes you can drive in sport mode without any issue.

Aye it's programmed for sport shifting. They sell this same tranny like in 2009 Escalade but with softer programming.

Yes a 65+ grand Escalade has the same exact AT tranny hardware as the 25 grand LS.

I can sleep better now. I thought it was normal, but with my car being a pre-production VIN, anything small will get me worrying.
