Midnight silver finish or Polished Wheels?
Hey guys, Great site!..I will be ordering my 2011 Cyber Gray 2SS this weekend, and was wanting some input on the wheels. I will be ordering the RS package and was planning on the polished aluminum option. I have only seen the polished wheels on the local dealers lot, never actually seen the silver finish that is standard with the RS package. Question, is the polished worth the extra money or do most like the silver finish? I'm thinkin the polished is worth the extra dough. Thoughts?

I really don't feel like its much of a difference. When I bought my car I was under the impression I had the midnight silver finish wheels for a while, until I glanced at the window sticker and saw I had polished. So its really whatever you want.

I wouldn't waste the extra money. Just remember, you have 4 piston brembo brakes and 14'' rotors on your car. As soon as you make the first couple of stops in traffic, your polished wheels will look just like midnight silver.

Go with the polished, I did. What the other poster said about the Brembos is true but all you need to do to bring them back is to spray them with S100 Total Cycle Cleaner from a motorcycle shop and hose them off and they become shiny again. The just look right is all. They look like they really belong on the car. They are not gaudy like chrome would be.

The factory polished wheels are not very good polished wheels. They are cloudy and almost look like fake "polish" paint. You will be disappointed. Just get the midnight sterling silver the RS package comes with and save $400.

Go with painted. Theses things are too easy to bounce off of curbs. Easier to repaint. www.paintscratch.com
I have them bookmarked.

The midnight silver wheels always look dirty compaired to the polished wheels. I had to clean my polished wheels almost every day to keep the brake dust off even after just a few miles. I've now got chrome factory wheels and I'm happy- They stay clean as the dust doesn't stick and they look great.
To sum it up- I my opinion get the polished.

I like the polished wheels alot when they are clean! If you get polished, make sure you change your brake pads to ceramics before you drive 10 miles! Hahaha

Polished all the way with CGM... Midnight always looks dirty.
Unless of course you plan to go w/ some nice forged aftermarket wheels... |

Impatient purchasing (I didn't want to wait for a build) forced me to go with the Polished Rims. I'd much rather have the Midnight Silver.
