Ya I just wrote them an e-mail telling them basically that. There is NO reason for this not to be available on the 2010. I don't expect all new features to be available for the 2010 obviously (like HUD or even the backup sensors I didn't complain about) but this just blatantly shows that GM is solely concerned with attracting new buyers instead of taking care of existing owners.
You nailed it.

Way to screw the fans that jumped behind this production line early at a time when GM really need their ass saved.

Would be even better if you could pull up your CEL codes and stuff too with this app.

Additionall, perhaps, even program the (if you have nav subscription) program your directions in there from your iphone versus having to use mapquest.

I call BS - if I can request OnStar to do all that stuff through voice communication over my mobile phone I see no reason that couldn't have an app to do the same thing.
I agree. Having worked with Toyota on their Telematics program/service... I call BS on the hardware change being a necessity. If that is the case, then it is a very poor design (I can say it because I am in this business).

I will seriously be upset at GM if this not rolled back for the 2010 Camaro owners.

We bought the Camaro's at a time when GM desperately needed sales, perhaps their darkest hour ever.

Absolutely no reason why this shouldn't work on the 2010's.

A few years back, I came out of an air show and couldn't find my Envoy (ok a blessing some would say ), and I called Onstar from my phone, asked them to flash my lights and sound the horn, they validated my pin number and a few seconds later my car was going crazy. So the only difference here is instead of speaking to an operator to do this stuff you are communicating with Onstar via the iPhone app. Rest assured 2010's will work too.

Heck I'd be perfectly happy if I could just call onstar and tell them to start my car...

If you are a 2010 owner and want this app to work for your car go to the OnStar website and e-mail them. Maybe if we annoy them enough they'll do it.

So far it's only the 2011's but people are sending e-mails on gm's website to include the '10s. A valiant and commendable effort
