I had a 93 supra turbo. They should be feared. People who don't usually never had one or raced one. With basic performance upgrades, intake, hardpipe kit, down pipe, exhaust and a boost controller I made 410whp on only 18psi. 430hp is easy for a supra even on the stock twins. I've learned not to mess with them in general especially if you're stock.

it's just the way you came across, throwing around terms like "ricer" and stuff. not everything that came out of japan is rice. the supra, 240, NsX, GTR, MR2.............all great cars. the camaro (though a great car) certainly isn't the be-all end-all of cars; and definitely not the fastest thing on four wheels. just try to have some respect. anyhow, race him and see what happens. there certainly wouldn't, or at least shouldn't, be any shame in loosing to him. and if you win, don't act like a putz when you do. it's still a nice car even if it's not as fast as yours. |

The fact that you think a single turbo is rice and you that can "badly" beat one in a stock 1LE made me Lol.

If you want to race naturally aspirated engines against turbo with a weight advantage too you should be getting what as a prize or offset to his advantage? He obviously thinks his new turbo is the shizzit, well good for him even if he is driving a dog he has of course picked up speed....the only stock setup on this list is the 1993 that matches our speed being a turbo. If he bought a stock set up off a used car or a new aftermarket or what year his supra is what mods he has made you do not know. So yes it would probably be a drivers race, as you have more weight a lack of turbo forced induction. If you were to dump the considerable $10,000 into doing a turbo it would make smoking power in the 700-800 range and you could laugh him off as you would be in the tens or lower. And yes it is all about getting the power to the ground. So if he has not upgraded to handle the power he could line up and scatter the trans and rear from repeated abuse. Or he could eat your lunch if you do not shift right and he has upgraded the turbo to blow the engine more than a stock boost, ( could also blow the engine too lol). Upgrading should always be a complete package, but many never worry as they figure yah take it easy and the axles should live the trans should live long......... Not always the case, and it can end up being expensive. And if you had a turbo you would want to upgrade your axles, and the trans clutches eventually along with some other suspension work and tuning or just be a tire shredding nightmare going nowhere fast. P.s. being a raggedy turd the chances he has had it on a dyno........zero to zero.
