Any early build owners get depressed washing their cars?

Well just hand washed the Bee again. Gets more depressing everytime I do it. More dirt in the paint coming to the surface. It is now starting to pop out in places leaving nice little round white spots. And the front passenger quarter panel still pisses me off. Does not even match the color of the rest of the car. Finding spots now where you can see the primer where the paint is so thin.

Oh well just wondering if anyone else feel like me when they hand wash them. I thought somebody has said the paint was way to thin on the early Rally Yellows. Anyone remember that?

Take it back to the dealer. Lots of people here have paint issues but seeing the primer throught the paint is a new one to me. My summit white SS was built 8/3/09 and the paint is perfect. Only one small hood chip with 8500 miles.

Early build (July 2009) here but only got 2900 miles on her. Mines is Black and I use Zaino which really helps out with the paint.

Hi Keith, All the driving you do and you only have 8500 hundred on your Camaro!? Are you trailering the car or driving it?

Hi Joe- Where you been ? I go to Marks on Mondays but no cruise tonight.
Last week a Silver 5th gen was there that was built on the same day as mine-8/3/09 with a vin within 150 of mine. 5-6 new Camaros out of about 700 cars at Marks cruise.
I only had 2600 miles this Spring but the trip to South Florida (& Valdosta) took care of that. This cars only fun while your driving it.

My born on date is 3.31.09 I have 15,000 miles on her and no issues with the paint. Sure, the gas cap, front, and rear facias don't match. But, the paint (other than that) is 100% perfect. I have no chips, no fading, nothing. Then again, you were talking about yellow...so...

LOL! I picked mine up on June 26 2009 and told my sons that I would never forget that date. Funny, that date sorta seemed familiar...JUNE 28!!! My wedding anniversary was in two days and in all of the excitement following my Camaro through the spasticsquirrel, I forgot about it and hadn't bought anything.
Whoops.
+42,000 miles, hair thinning but not my paint.

Early build vin < 1000 ... no paint issues - front fascia is slightly different color in some light, but that's it. Car is a RJT 2SS/RS R6P

These cars are too expensive to accept subpar paint jobs. I give the dealer a visit ASAP.

CamaroScotty hinted that the two week plant shutdown is to upgrade the paint process to Cadillac standards for the upcoming Caddy being built at Oshawa, and sharing the paint booth.

I hope he's right.

When I had a new Camaro with crappy, thin paint, I made friends with the service manager, who signed off thin paint repaint.

Then I made friends with the painter in the body shop, and gave him some libations for encouragement. They paint a lot of cars, mine was special to the painter though, and I got a show-car paint job for free.

What are you washing it with? it is getting thinner every time you wash it? Never heard of paint doing that before... Best thing to do in that case is don't wash it so often I guess... Mine was built in December 09 and The paint is perfect on it other than where a big rock hit the front just below the lower grill.... I now have over 13,000 miles...

I don't understand people having their car for a year and not have but a few thousand miles on them... Gosh If I wasn't going to drive mine any more than that I would have just bought a lifesized poster of a Camaro...

Mine was built in the end of November. I think. I've got dirt under my yellow paint and in the clear coat. No new problems after washing the car tons of times.
