If the car defaulted to Eco mode every time then they could use the 30 MPG figure.

Eco mode and vette in the same sentence, what is the world coming to?

I think 33-35 mpg's will be no problem in real world driving. When I did the power tour in my baby cammed/bolt-on 99 trans am with a 6-speed and 3.42's I was doing 27-28 mpg's with the ac blasting. Guys that I traveled with did 30-32 in there stock vettes so this should do very well IMO.

EPA rates eco mode @ 30mpg.....tour mode @ 28...this rating is an average of the two.
I don't think some people truly appreciate how difficult it is to increase fuel economy even just one mpg. They improved an average of 3...AND increased hp from 430 to 460 (not to mention the huge torque of the LT1)....this is absolutely incredible. Way to go Chevy!! |

Commits weekly crime

Laguna Blue. It's the way I'm leaning right now.
Because I'll be out of state for 6-8 months, I won't be getting whatever I get until I get back. I am upgrading from my Sonic because I need to be carrying lots of stuff to North Carolina, so both cars are out for the short term. Almost certainly getting an Audi Q5 in the next few days though, which will become my DD. This works out well because the C7 production will be well underway by then. The difficult decision is then whether to immediately get a Z51, or wait until the Z06 (if that's what they'll call it). I'm very curious to know when they would announce and start taking orders for that. What's interesting is that I never really felt this way about the C6. I loved the Camaro because it was a looker. This Stingray is as well...and thus the desire to get one. Awesome looking car.

Id tey to make an argument that 662hp and 24 mpg in a heavier, less aerodynamic brick shape, non-cylinder deactivating Mustang is more impressive...but I wont.
instead, im looking forward to seeing one in person...im 50/50 on the photos thus far.

Nice!
My buddy got 33 mpg on a 150 mile trip in his 08 C6 (stock). Impressive for a sports car with over 400hp!
