Stripe help!

Just received my Camaro that was shipped from overseas and I have dark water mark like spots on my stripes (spots are rough feeling, not smooth like the rest of the stripe), I see some rail dush on my black hood paint that I will try to clay bar out. I have tried detailing spray and no luck on my stripes. Any suggestions, are my stripes ruined??

I would try a very fine abrasive by hand. Something like our Revive polish or fine machine polish. Typically abrasives at a "no no" on the vinyl, but with something like this the only hope you have to save them is to gently abrade the surface.

If that doesn't save it you might be lookingto replace them.

Dylan, no disrespect here, but if he shipped, is there a chance this mold or mildew? ( looks like to me anyway) If so, wouldn't a a diluted APC or mild bleach cleaner be a first step before polish? Might be easier on the stripes?

I thought it was mold or mildew, was looking for something safe to put on the stripes to try. Going to try everything I can, if not I will replace them.

Ok. I don't want to overstep Dylan's suggestion, but for sure I would suggest a diluted multipurpose cleaner before polishing. Adams APC 1:1 with water or a diluted household cleaner to remove the stains. Then follow up with a protectant. Staying within the Adams line, their VRT, but you'll want protect it once it's clean

Hope that helps

Its worth a try, but if it were mold or mildew there would still be some surface improvement even with a wipe down of Detail Spray (most likely) doesn't hurt to try, but I have my doubts.

Also, since the vinyl is porous the stain would probably remain even after the surface mildew/mold were removed.

Anything is worth a try at this point though... worst case scenario it doesn't work and you replace the stripe anyways so no harm in going at it from a variety of approaches.
