but ...but.. . onstar would never use the massive amount of data it has available to use against you. It's all good. Stop being paranoid....
Between this crap and the inevitability of another hack .... no. You can pull the fuse and it disables it without throwing any SES codes. You just lose the car's microphone. I've yet to locate the physical unit to do a proper disabling so that the microphone is retained. |

And you do not think your cars computer does not track that stuff now? This is just a way to get it in your hands as well GM already knows how we drive our cars the computer tells them.

the car's computer can track everything it wants. It's not able to phone it home in the background though without onstar being enabled. Mine's been disabled since day 2 of ownership.

Nothing new
Not really all that new of concept. Cars have had "black box" recording capability for some time. Police can get info about how you were driving prior to a collision. Not to mention google maps uses your phone info to update traffic conditions. Just a matter of time before big brother taps into it to create a steady revenue stream.
