Did you have to pay to paint the body kit?

My dealer is telling me that it will cost $600 to pait the body kit that I got on my Inferno Orange Camaro. The window sticker says that there is a $325 charge for the paint and of course the charge for the body kit (ground effects package).
They said that I can keep it unpainted, which i dont think looks that great, or I can get it painted.
Has anyone else experienced this?

The paint charge is not to paint the body kit. The kit comes unpainted on the car. If you want it painted, yes it is an extra cost.

Yep, got to pay to have it painted to match. The stock kit looks great on the IOM Camaro, especially if you add cyber grey stripes. One of the few car colors that look good with the stock GFX, imo.

But $600 for painting the GFX kit sounds like a bargain. I have heard of prices nearly 4x that ($2,200) for painting and installing it. If you want the GFX, and want them painted, take the dealer's offer to do it for $600 and enjoy the great look.

My dealer charged me 300.00 to have the body kit painted IOM to match the car. I wanted the diffuser in between the exhaust painted semi-gloss black and expected to pay the body shop extra. (They outsource the painting to a body shop). In the end, I left off the front chin spoiler and didn't have it painted so the body shop didn't charge anything extra. Picked it up yesterday and looks great.

gm has a bulletin out, if you paint them you loose all gm parts warranty on them,

General Motors has validated the Accessory Chevrolet Camaro Ground Effects (P/Ns 92207441 and 92208008) only with the dark argent metallic finish that is applied by the manufacturer.

These parts are not paint to match and are only available in the dark argent metallic finish.

The painting of these components before or after installation is considered a modification. Modifying the components will void the accessory's warranty coverage. Please advise the customer that these parts are not paint to match
