Possible brake or transmission issues with rapid slowing

18 ZL1 w 34k miles. Automatic.

When slowing anything more than 'quite gently', i get a kick at about 5-7mph. Every time. I can avoid that 'kick'/thump every single time, no matter what, by simply easing off on the brake a little bit when i get to around 7mph.

Anyone hear of something similar?

I think it's just the 10 speed transmission shifting down. Feel it in my 2022 AT4 as well

consider a fluid change and see if it resolves
