18x8.5 Malibu wheels on '14 2LS ?

was just looking for stock 18x7.5 wheels and saw some stock Malibu wheels that I think would look bangin' on the 5th gen. GM OEM Part # 22969723

I figure the extra inch will be fine on the rear, but what about the front? Would there be any steering issues? (how do I look at the current stock setup to see if there's an extra inch of width clearance?)

hope it's not too silly of a question, but would the malibu rims have the same performance tolerances? or is "a wheel is a wheel, whatever"?

thanks

A Malibu is FWD, better double check those offsets and bolt patterns. The larger width shouldn't be the issue but most FWD wheels wouldn't fit a RWD in my past experience.

Won't work. The 2016 and up Malibu have 5x115 bolt pattern. You need the larger 5x120 bolt pattern. Only the 2013-2015 Malibu's have the 5x120 bolt pattern. You would still need to check for proper offset depending on what rim you went with.
