Can't get into my trunk...

Don't laugh please!
Winterized my car, and in doing so disconnected the battery cables.
The battery is located in the trunk.
So after I disconnected the cables I closed the trunk (like an idiot).
Now I cannot get into the trunk to re-hook the battery cables.
Is there another way into the trunk? (The button on the driver side door is battery operated and will not work now; same with the key chain).
Is there any other way into the trunk, or do I have to somehow fold the back seat down and crawl in the trunk and pull the emergency release latch?
Thanks for any insight.

Thats it. In through the back seat, pull the trunk release. Not that big of a deal.

As far as I know, you poor unfortunate souls that have to store your cars (sorry, CA boy here ) need only disconnect the positive hookup under the hood- no need to touch the battery at all... I could be wrong on this, correct me if that's not the case.

put a battery charger on the car using the conections under the hood and try that, hopefully the positive cable in the truck is not touching anything!!

I've got a permanently installed battery maintainer in the trunk, mounted to the battery with an extension cord going into the trunk.

I'm pretty sure with this car you only need to unhook the positive connection under the hood. But, I don't even bother unhooking my battery or tending it. In the two years I've stored mine, no issues ever with the battery starting after storage.

But I'm sure I just jinxed it now.

Disconnecting the negative on the battery is the proper way to do it. Then you don't have to worry about accidentally letting the positive cable coming into contact with any body parts and sparking.

As for the original problem. You are gonna have to crawl through the backseat. :( Next time use a screwdriver to flip the trunk latch so it won't lock when it is closed. Then when you hook the battery back up, just press the trunk release and you are good to go again.

It is probably ok to leave the battery hooked up for storage, but if you park your car at a storage facility, the battery must be disconnected for insurance purposes.

On a side note, I always disconnect my battery for winter storage and have never used a battery tender. I am still on my original battery in my 99 Trans Am, so I am going to continue using this method.

Yea same thing happened to me.
Year 2 i tied a string to the trunk latch so i just have to pull it to release the trunk come spring.

NOT a good idea unless you have the positive cable wrapped. Computers can be expensive.

Have any kids? I use to send me daughter into my fishing rod compartment on my bass boat to help run wires up to my trolling motor. She was a perfect fit. I would have never been able to reach or get out of it like she could. The hole behind your back seat should easily fit a 10 year old or maybe older.
