Had a 2008 Solstice GXP which I loved, but needed a car that was as fun but easier to get in and out of. I really really love this car!

#1 I had a 69 Z/28 but had to sell it to feed 4 kids. ( back in 1975)
#2 In my senior years, I got it in my head I wanted a CTS V. I have a turbo car, Buick GN, but wanted to try something supercharged. #3 CTS V's are too expensive #4 I found a supercharged Camaro with 3500 miles on it for a heck of a deal. Probably because it had a persistent check engine light, which I got fixed under warranty. #5 It was my color, victory red. I don't know why but I love that color. I've got pickups and semi's painted that color. #6 Wanted to try something with a LS engine in it. #7 5th gen Camaro's have a ton of aftermarket stuff available and I love accessorizing cars! #8 After I test drove my car I knew it was coming home with me. #9 Glad I bought It! #10 You only live once and you never know when your time is over! |

Saw the 5th gen debut on transformers and fell in love with it, but never thought I'd have the money to own one!
Always wanted a sports car. Better looking than the mustang and challenger.

Hmm, it's not a list of reasons but it's a story that probably has 10 reasons in it.
My 16 year old son is on his third truck. He hasn't crashed or otherwise destroyed any of them as he's a very good driver. He's simply changed his mind regarding what it was he wanted. Problem is, each time he sold a truck, it wasn't for what he bought it for. We were down to the last $2k in his "truck fund" and were having a hard time finding something he liked for that amount that wasn't a big pile of something. Since I'd been wanting another Camaro for a while (sold two Camaros when I was younger and had been wanting to get back into the family for a while), we came up with the brilliant idea of taking the $2k we had and buying cheap Gen4 Camaro, something like a '98 to '02. There were lots of those listed on Craigslist for close to $2k. Then we'd sell the Toyota Corolla that I was driving and take that money to buy a nicer truck. We found out that the reason they were at that price was because they hadn't been taken care of and were close to piles of junk themselves. Add to that the fact that I'm not the same size at 48 that I was when I was 18 and didn't quite fit the Gen4 cab. I had to lay back way too much. It just simply wasn't comfortable. In the meantime we found the perfect truck for my son for the money that we had available. That meant that we didn't need another car but I'd already been bitten by the Camaro bug. We sold the Toyota and were at the dealership looking at a 2000 Gen4. Overall it was in fairly decent shape but I still wasn't comfortable in it. On a whim, I sat in a 2012 and it was light years more comfortable. A short time later we were driving away from the dealership in a 2012 Imperial Blue Metallic 2LS. And now for the top reason I have the Camaro I have now . . . . . . PERMAGRIN!!!!!

angrybird. i have always liked camaros and firebirds. i had a 86 camaro long ago, and was a great car. i even towed a small ski boat with it, nice 305 engine. got a 98 firebird, still have it. dont make pontiacs anymore, and liked the new camaros. so, bought another camaro. so, dont really have 10 reasons, just one, always loved the camaros!

1. I secretly admired 5th Gens from afar.
2. It was a model that very few people have in my area. 3. 300+ HP from a six banger? Unreal. 4. The service dept at my local dealer treated me and my Monte Carlo like royalty, there was no way I was ready to sever ties with them. 5. Speaking of the Monte Carlo, I was bored with it. 6. I always wanted a sporty, fun car that could turn heads. 7. Price was right. 8. I used to think that it would be too risky to DD a car like that in NE USA. I realized that there were options and features to suit my needs that didn't require addition investment beyond the purchase price. (All season radials on the non-RS LT, traction control, etc.) 9. The Permagrin. 'Nuff said. 10. I've owned a Lexus and an Acura in the past and I was never so infatuated with a car as I am now. |

The Ford dealer would not budge on the price of the Mustang. The Chevy dealer did.
