Upgraded 21" Rims Do I own the 20" Rims

My dad just recently bought his 2SS/RS Vert a month ago and got the 21" wheel upgrade and never got his RS OEM rims from the dealer. Reading around It looks like the dealer should of given him the RS rims and tires back.

Called the dealership that we bought the car from. Asked him where the tires were because he heard that he was suppose to take delivery of them too. The dealer told us that the 21" rims are a Factory "Dealer" Installed option. Which is different then a Dealer Installed option. He said that they had to ship back the RS rims to the factory upon putting the new rims on the car. Which to me doesn't make sense that a factory would send out the rims and have to ship them back to the factory. They wouldn't be considered new then.. and they are putting used RS rims on new cars... Correct me if I'm wrong.

Do you think that the dealer is lying to us? Does he own the RS tires?

You should own two sets of wheels.

I think this might be a bit different then the post from yesterday. Was this actually called an upgrade, or was it a purchased option? Also what did you pay?

If you opted for 21 inch wheel upgrade and paid a nominal difference, then I don't think you should have 2 sets.

Maybe I am looking at this wrong.

NO way that GM would waste money shipping out 20" wheels and tires just to have the dealer ship them back. If GM wanted to keep the 20" wheels they'd have installed the 21" wheels at the factory like they do with the 20" polished wheel upgrade. The factory keeps the 20" non-upgraded wheels.

The only way you can get 21"s on your Camaro is to order the 21" option (a dealer installed package for something like $4700) or buy them aftermarket. In either case, you will end up with 2 sets of tires and wheels, because you are doing the same thing...buying 4 more wheels and tires to replace the ones it rolled out of the factory on.

The Dealer is stealing from you.....I can't tell you what to do, but I would require a few 5 gallon cans of gasoline, a few road flares, a shower curtain, a monkey, and a 9 iron to have total satisfaction in your situation.

I thought this too, But I calculated what he paid for the car. There was no differance taken off. Still payed full for the RS package on a 2SS ($1300) and full price for the upgraded 21" rims/tires ($4865)

I'd call and demand to speak with the manager. Tell him if he cannot produce your rims, you'll be putting a call into GM corporate by days end.

Here we go again.......
Whether is was a lot car or ordered, the 21" wheels are installed at the dealer and were paid for by the consumer, (to the tune of $4,700ish, it's on the window sticker) when the car was purchased. The purchase of the 21" rims and tires does not negate the fact that the car came with 20" rims and tires which the consumer also paid for with the RS option.

The 2 sets of rims and tires go with the car upon delivery, period!

If they say they sent the 20" rims and tire back (which is BS) they need to order you a new set of 20" rims and tires.
Make sure they are new and not used or damaged in any way.
