Also, does anybody know the approximate gauge of the halo wires and how many amps they pull? I ordered my headlights today and want to get the switch setup for the halos before the lights get here.

Thanks in advance and will post pics when installed.

Update: Just installed the touch sensitive switch for the halos. I placed the switch in the unused square for the sunroof on the overhead console. What a pain! Tapped power from cigarette lighter number 2 fuse and routed the halo power wire through the A-pillar, underneath the door kickplate, through the firewall, and ziptied off waiting for the headlights which should arrive Friday. I used 18 gauge wire and will be wiring both halos in parallel.

My passenger halo went out as well as some of the others here. Fortunately, I'm still under 90 day exchange warranty but I had to take the front of the car off again, box up and ship at my expense. I also put deposit down for new one until the old one is received. For those counting, I also turned off my alarm notifications to honk only to avoid undue strain on the ballasts. I'm thinking I should do the "switch gut" so it doesn't come on when I turn the car key. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Unbelievable! The new light received lasted all of 1 week. I think I've really wasted a lot of money and time doing this mod twice and possibly 3 times by the time I uninstall them.

If you're thinking about it...don't.

The lights themselves are good but the ccfl halos suck bigtime. My advice is if you buy the Eagle Eyes plan on spliting them open and putting in AAC led halos and just remove the ccfl ballast altogether and ring if you want. Or wire up both ccfl and led halos and if/when the ccfl craps out you are still going to have halos. This is experience talking I might add

If you are going to crack open the headlights and add a different halo then you might as well do a retrofit using a true HID projector with the Halogen housing. You can paint the inside and shroud a flat black and it will look the same. Going this route will also allow you have a good ballast that's not hidden inside the headlight. Not including it being cheaper....but more work to do.

Also, I have a line on a guy that can make you a plug-n-play harness that will get rid of your DRL which will help out the ballast. I did it on mine and it's been working great.

I haven't been keeping up with the Eagle Eye threads but I've only seen a few people having issues with them. From what I've seen they seem to be a decent option.

Can anyone explain why you need the harness? We're doing the installation right now and wired the headlights up without it and it seems to work perfectly. If someone could please let me know why you need the harness, I'd greatly appreciate it

I think the harness was for the RS lights in the non-RS car. Or maybe a relay for the highbeams? It's been while since I had eagle-eyes. I loved 'em.

I think people make a harness to change the DRL. I made one just to change the DRL's to the fog lights and halo's.

In thinking about getting these, do you think it's possible to just Wire the halo to a tap-a-circuit and into the fusebox. Preferably the cigarette lighter fuse? Instead of into the parking lights or side markers
