E 85?

Was wondering if anyone has gone with the E85 tune from trifecta as of yet. Im people have, but was looking for input on it. I am seriously considering it now that its not my daily driver anymore. The few questions/concerns i have are as follows..

1) Gas mileage?
2) Noticeable power increase?
3) Smells good?

Any/all input welcome.

Running E47 and seeing 80% Injector Duty Cycle at WOT. Doubt there is enough stock injector to pull it off. I also see fuel rail pressure dropping to ~50psi from 58 on the 1:1 mix of 93 & E85.

I don't believe in running over 80% IDC. Running PE of .84 lambda and Stoich of 11.97.

K&N Intake, Solo HF Cats, MBRP 3" X-pipe exhaust & tune.

The E47 is ~99 octane and performs well. Since it's not my DD I don't mind blending it. 27* advance at 6k and no knock retard.

E85 takes ~30% more fuel than pumpgas so your mileage will suffer. I see 18-19mpg on E47.

Vince is a great guy, I helped him work on the E85 tune for the 4 cyl turbo LNF in Cobalts. It has fueling issues stock with E85 as well. I never could get the LNF over ~70% E but it was a DI engine. He might be able to tweak the fuel pump up, IDK.

I already get 16.2 average mpg these days. But since i bought a bike, ive saved over 1k miles this month on the car. looking for more power. and i like the smell. figured why not give it a shot.

1) E85 has about 28% lower energy content than gas, so you can expect that much of a fall in per gallon economy.

2) Probably not much more than a normal tune unless you have other mods that require/can make use of the extra octane.

3) Vapors coming from the tank when you will up will smell like sugar.

Also, over the long run, the E85 may prove corrosive to anything it touches since these cars aren't engineered and made out of alloys designed for high ethanol content.

ive been running E85 for about the past month now,

1.) my mileage is barely effected. My average mileage is 17 mpg at an average of 25mph. where as on the regular trifecta tune i was maybe more like 18. no where near a 28% loss in mpgs.

2.) For sure a nice power increase. when tuning for the first time to the reg. trifecta tune i could feel the diffrerence, and going from the reg tune to E85 i can for sure feel a difference. It is dyno proven to make more hp then the reg trifecta tune.

3.) honestly i dont really notice the difference in smell much. it is a sweeter smell

I had an e85 race tune I ran after the cam. Plenty of injector, but out of pump past 6k rpm. A zl1 drop in pump would be the cure. Stock injectors on the ss are 42lb/hr. The same used in the ls7. I have taken those injectors past 600 rwhp naturally aspiriated on 93 octane. They will support low to mid 500's on a full e85 mix.

No way your getting about the same mpg. Also your not going to gain much power on a stock car tuning for e85....

Who says you can't gain hp, E85 is 33% oxygen and does make more power tuning on a stock engine, I haven't tune my LS3 M6 yet, but I have my ZX14 Motorcycle and gained 8rwhp with it, 175rwhp to 183rwhp.

I clearly said your not going to gain MUCH tuning for it on a stock car. If I'm going to pay 500 dollars for tuning a stock car It wouldnt be to gain 10 hp from e85.
