Is that even possible? It seemed like the trend was around 10 Camaros per dealer...

I was thinking that the guy just wanted me to order one...
Yes, it is possible. Which dealer you talking about? My dealer, Paddock, got 63, and Classic Chevy in Texas got 67. They are the top two that I know of.

It's Jeff Wyler Chevrolet in Eastgate, Ohio. They're a pretty high volume Chevy dealer, so I'm guessing that contributed to their high allocation. However, there are two Jeff Wyler Chevrolets, so I'm wondering if they combined their allocations together...

That's exactly correct! Most of the general public have no idea of the backlog that is being created now. For the next 5 months, orders will be coming in and not one car will be built.

Very unusual for GM to start production with such a large back order. Not a bad place to be for them but unfotunately, anyone thinking about going to the dealership for a test drive in the spring are only going tob be able to se us wave bye-bye as we pick up our cars.

NO. Unfortunately NOT true. While the dealers are taking our orders based on initial allocation, remember that the actual orders are not being "dropped" to the factory until December. At that time, the dealer CAN ORDER HIS OWN FIRST. If you are number one at this point and the dealer decides in December to order four for his lot, he has every right to move you to number five. Sucks; but someone correct me if I'm wrong- I'm 99% sure on this.

Well I hope someone chimes in as well because if that's the case then we are all left to the mercy of our dealers morals. I am going to call my dealer and let him know that if he bumps my car for anyone, he can go pound salt. As a matter of fact, I'm going to go back and write it in the sales contract.

If we are left to the mercy of our dealer's morals... then I'm good to go.

But this post is interesting.. in knowing how that works for the dealers.

These are for "SOLD ORDERS". Can a dealer be shady? Yes. He can enter orders under employee names, etc. and bring a car in for the lot. One would HOPE that they are doing this with unsold allocation left over, and not pushing people back past their "estimated" allocation. I guess you'll know if you see a Camaro on the lot before your car comes in. And GM has some checks and balances in place.....but they won't catch or stop everyone that tries.

Why? To put a car on the lot for $5k or whatever over sticker. It can be done...so know your dealer. If it is a forum dealership - such as ours, it is a bad mistake...Forums can make you, and they can break you as well! I plan on being here past this allocation, and I can only get better!

The orders are in GM's system. This allocation TO MY KNOWLEDGE was for sold orders, not the lot.....but see my previous post /\
