Yep Im seeing more and more top mounts just bolted on and running right out of the box at the 500 RWHP with headers.

Fun stuff for an automatic, and great on the street

we ran 600rwhp with a Maggie on the stock cam and lifters until the customer was ready for a cam install. no issues. As mentioned here and other threads, the stock L99 lifters are fine until you install a bigger VVT cam. At that point lifters need to be upgraded.

Phil, back in 2010 with just the Maggie bolted and the car on the dyno, I was told that there was a noise that was lifter failure. When the motor was taken apart there was nothing wrong.

I'm running a Vortech and a 125 shot on the stock lifters and stock L99 untouched inside. Headers is it. Worked up to 12.5 psi, sees 13 when spraying. Rev limiter set at 6400, shifts at 6250. No lifter problems yet. Don't know what the RWHP is but I'm guessing it is pushing 600 through the auto when not spraying, and 700+ when spraying. I don't think horsepower hurts the lifters at all, I think it's the high revs.

I have heard what sounds like lifter tap when the oil is really hot (like after pushing it hard on a 90 degree day), but it had that exact same sound under the same condition when the car was bone stock. Hasn't gotten worse, hasn't gotten better, and only happens when the oil and engine is really heated up. My dad's 6.0 truck engine sounds the same and it doesn't have the DOD lifters.

If I start worrying about every little noise, I just fire up the Duramax on a 15 degree morning.

We did a procharger "out of the box" unit with 60 # injectors that was on a L99. We started to run out of fuel at 460 RWHP.

Not a fan of how the set up is placed in the engine bay.

Just love the top mounts better for the everyday street racer.

Wow ! I was under the impression that the centris were more efficient than the top mount blowers. It doesn't seem so in this case. I have gotten a lot more than 460 out of the stock fuel system and ZR1 injectors in the past. Very surprised by this. Do you have an explanation for why this happens?

Also I agree. I couldn't be happier with instant on demand torque from the top mount system.

The stock fuel system dropped to 42 PSI.

It needed more fuel so I could make more power. He'll have a BAP and new injectors installed, and be back in the game.

It really started to drop off at 5000 RPMs to a level I didn't like.

When the Camaro arrived for a "check my tune" from a local shop, the first pull was about 370 RWHP.
