Looking for the best CAI

Ready for a CAI, and was needing some input on what kind everyone has and what gains you got. Thanks!

I have had the Airaid for almost 3 years. Highly recommend. I believe they claim +16 ponies.

The best performing intakes for the SS are going to be CAI Inc (especially when you add a scoop) and Vararam. Either of these setups produce somewhere in the upper teens-low twenties at the rear wheel depending on the conditions. Most other systems come in somewhere in the low teens and a few don't even make it out of the single digits.

I'am curious. Have the K&N typhoon series, don't hear alot of good about them, I'am guessing because the tube absorbs heat heating the air. Could a guy wrap the tube in some nice heat tape? just curious how that would help if any, other than replacing.

You could try that and monitor the IAT's to see if it keeps the tube cooler by insulating from the underhood heat. But it could make it hotter by keeping heat in and not allowing disipation. Keep in mind that the IAT sensor is in the MAF sensor housing. A hot tube's actual IAT's could be much highter as it enters the intake than the what is being reported by the sensor near the filter.

We, JRE did all the testing before we carried a single Cold Air kit, we wanted the truth because the advertised numbers were outrageous and all over the Place.

We ran 3 independent test to find out what works best, 1st in 2009 V8, 2nd 2010 V6, 3rd 2010 V8 when the rest of the kits hit the market.

This spread sheet Tells it all.

On your spreadsheet are the makers listed from best to least best, top to bottom?

I did The Halltech.Tied with CAI for hp and a little more torque but really a tie. IATS same as CAI and fuel trims close or same as stock. Quality is o.k. cost around 300-330 shipped, 100 less then CAI but CAI is nicer looking and better quality. The other cai's are a bit less, but less power to.On the street I dont think it matters so get the one you like.
