V6 Rev Limiter?

Just wondering if the V-6 has a rev limiter as part of the ECM? If so where does it kick in.

A couple months back people were saying that there was something wrong with my Camaro that it wasn't reving past 4k rpms in neutral. But anyways, you can't rev past 4k in an Automatic.

It...sucks because I can't win any exhaust competitions with that 4K RPM limiter on. The car doesn't sound the same when it's in neutral as opposed to when in gear.

Why would he want to? Not a good idea to rev any engine to redline when not under load.

Trifecta tune sets you free!

Edit on 8-19

We were in an exhaust competition this past spring and found out the hard way about the 4000 limit in P or N.
The tune allows for more freedom without completely throwing all control out of the window.

BTW - love the results of the Trifecta both in rev freedom and transmission shift points.

I saw 7500 rpm while showing my wife how to do a proper burnout. RPMs climbed so fast while the tires were complaining.

I do have the Trifecta tune.
