I think the V6 manual is a quality issue discovered and deemed un-salable to the public in Mid-March just about the time regular production began...probably after your order was pulled. I'm sure a fix has been engineered, but it takes a few weeks to rework existing materials and get the correct products to the assembly line.

Hang in the Primus!
Agreed. And I understand 100%! The problem is that you can't say it wasn't delayed. Plus there has been no official word on the delay. Hell, there hasn't been *un*official word on the delay. Just customers complaining about the lack of a build.

Plus, if it takes a few weeks, shouldn't there be a constraint? If not, it just puts more people in the same position.

I'm trying to hang in there. Really, I am. My biggest problem is that a car purchase is a huge thing where many events need to be orchestrated. I recently sold my car in anticipation of getting my Camaro and I'm borrowing a car in the mean time. All I'm looking for is information to help with planning.

Thanks for that Scott. It has been hard waiting, and with the current state of GM I cringe every time they are in the news. My order has been sitting at 3000 for over a month, I don't know when it will get built, and no I haven't sat in one yet (that will change Saturday). But every time I read of someone who has picked up their car and can't stop singing it's praises, well I know when I turn the key to my SS it will all be worth it

Thanks Fbod....your post made me feel better. Thanks to Scott and GM for bringing this car back. I have been driving my 99 buick regal (my college beater) around for awhile now and planned on doing so until I found a car that I just couldn't live without.

In 2006 when the Camaro Concept was introduced I immediately fell in love. Once I heard that it was going to be produced, I knew that it was the car I absolutely had to have.

I am so excited about this car, we are all excited about this car. We are the people that think driving should be fun!

Fbodfather,

Thanks for taking the time, once again, to reassure all of us (especially the R6P folks) that our cars a truly "on the way." If it weren't for companies like Avis and Hertz and National and Enterprise buying TONS of cars, GM would be in much worse shape than they are now, and we might not HAVE a 2010 Camaro to look forward too.

That said, just like you we get frustrated. We try and wait for "official" word on everything but, quite frankly, we're dying for any news we can get. Top that off with some of the headaches that we have to go through to find out the status of our OWN orders, let alone the horror stories of others, and the frustration builds. Just like happened to OldTimer, I worry about my dealer "pulling a fast one" when my car finally DOES arrive. Problem is, I don't have ANYTHING other than his word he'll keep the car at MSRP, he wouldn't put it in writing. Hopefully, in my case and many others, that is enough.

Finally, I understand the need to get a car in every dealers hands, I just wish it could happen sooner. My dealer still has not received their car while I know of several dealers in the Philadelphia area (Chapman and Bryner to name a couple) who have over 15 each. I understand they are larger dealers, but do the REALLY need 26 cars (Chapman) when other dealers have none?!?!? The only chance I've had to sit in a car was for a minute(literally, 1 minute) at my dealer when a customer car was waiting to be picked up, in the rain no less! Please get these cars to the dealerships and, if possible, get agreements from the dealers to not just sell these cars on the spot. They should be bound to hold them for a month or two so more people have a chance to see this car.

FYI - When I looked at that car, there was a constant stream, 1-2 people at a time, stopping to look at this car. Now, this is a dealership that is about 75 yards back off the road, in the rain, and people were STILL stopping just to see this car. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do everything you can to get us our cars as soon as possible.

Everyday i wake up and just about shiat my pants when i see this dream car of mine sitting in my driveway. I cant help but be grateful and know my money was spent well.

Thanks Scott and GM as a whole for building an absolutley amazing car.
Until you take delivery and see the response of the people around you on the road, in your neighborhood at the local stores you just can't understand what it is like to own this car. I have had my Camaro for 4 days and I would never have imagined the smiles this car has put on the faces of others, not to mention my own and my wife. I have to say that this car was worth every second of waiting and I am truely thankful to have my new Camaro. Thanks again Scott for taking the time to share your thoughts, you have a tough job and I don't envy the position you are in at all. Keep up the good work! We all appreciate what you do for us!

Would you mind sharing when you ordered yours, and the last bit of your VIN? It'll help some us, who are still waiting or ordering, to put things into perspective.

Read the entire thread, and though I noticed a few who normally have critisism and kinda backed up a little from their norm, I appreciate the ones who are standing by their initial thoughts. That's constructive and problem solving.

Thank you Scott for taking the time to inform us and for not giving up on us alltogether. Don't know what you said to OldTimer but he got his problem solved. I know you understand the frustration of the early orders and gave a fair explanation. This is not your job to put out the fires but you still try and that's awesome and doesn't go unnoticed by us.

Thanks, Scott.

I'm glad to hear things worked out for Oldtimer. I have a nagging feeling that my dealer will try something similar with me. Since I'll be buying two one-way plane tickets (one for me, one for my wife), on short notice to pick up my car, they'll pretty much have me by the balls.

I'm just glad I sold my Trans Am before it came time to get the Camaro. Trying to work with a dealer 600 miles from home while trying to make a deal on a trade-in seems like it'd be a nightmare.
