Ahdidah10,
This seriously sucks. Very sorry to hear about this, but glad you're ok. Word of advice: I had damage like this a couple of years ago and I had a follow-up problem that I could have corrected if I'd known better. The trunk lid seal never sealed properly and I had water leak into the trunk (which eventually led to a SERIOUS mildew odor :( ). So, when you get your car back from the shop, put newspaper down under the entire lid, close the trunk, and get your hose out and spray all around (and from various angles). If you've got leaks, the newspaper will show it and you'll want to get it corrected ASAP. Good luck man, Jack

I'm sorry to see another one like this. If there's a bright side, maybe you can get the money for the OEM catback and put it toward an aftermarket one, if that's your taste. From the pics', at least the trunk and door gaps don't look bad and I can't see any buckles in the any of the panels that I can see, so hopefully all the damage is on the rear body panel. I fear it'll probably be toast, and you'll have to have it replaced and all that (probably into $4K-$5K in damage if it goes that far). I'm sure a quality shop will be able to do a unibody measurement and make sure all the points are within range. I think the tollerance for a unibody car was something like 3-4mm - that was a few years ago anyways. Make sure they get a look at the exhaust clear up to the cats' and manifolds. Being punched how they are, there's a chance that damage could've worked it's way up there. Also, go so far as making sure they check the fuel level sender as fuel slosh, in extreme cases, can jack with the sender in the tank.
I'm sorry about your ride :( PM me if there are more points I can suggest. I worked at a bodyshop for more than five years and in the Parts Department at a dealership for more than five years before that. Sincerely, Chuck

All kidding aside, Seriously.
Even though you may feel fine, get to a good doctor and tell him what happened ange get a thorough examination. Many serious injuries have no symptoms for a few days. You NEED that examination. Hopefully, you're really okay, but GET THAT EXAM! |

Glad your okay. I hope you are able to get it repaired, given parts might be a little hard to come by... that said, if it's not totaled so you can get a new car, be sure to sue for the depreciation of having your pristine one devalued. My Dad had an accident in his Mustang GT - and they didn't total the car. So, he got everything fixed/replaced *and* recoup the depreciation value of the never-wrecked car vs. the once-wrecked car... amounted to about $8k, so it was definitely worth the effort on his part. Given the hotness and over-MSRP value of the Camaro's, I'd bet your own recouped depreciation value would be quite a bit higher.
