For cost you could go with a factory 18" rim, and have it cut down by a CNC lathe guy for a few bucks more to fit the 4.5/5" skinnies. Then just add tires. However the Weld's do look good.

If you come towards our area, I'd let you borrow my set for some track runs.
This is who I got my wheels from, and who recommended where to buy tires since at the time he couldn't touch another vendors prices due to sales volumes....

Matt will do you right...

and for my few cents worth... you can downshift and let off the throttle if you lose brakes, you lose a back tire and chances are you can manage the car to a safe spot unless you are in the really really high power range then it's a toss up... the power and your reaction time, or lack of it may make that decision for you... but if you lose a front tire under hard acceleration, or get the car sideways and peel a front tire off the rim... then it's pretty certain you will meet the wall, if not the wall, the other car, and other items along the way... Space saver tires rated for 55 mph do not belong anywhere near a track unless they are in the trunk of a spectators car or maybe on the trash collection trailer used by the track clean up crew...

I realize the space saver spares look like the front tires on a funny car, in shape and sometimes in thread pattern, but they are far from the same thing... and keep in mind, these are 3800 + lb cars we are trying to fling down the track... If everything is perfect, then no problem... but, as well all know, major accidents are a series of little events or conditions that add up...

I personally would not want to run on a track that allows this kind of tire through tech.... I know it's expensive, BELIEVE me I know...The HP in my car which is no longer accurately reflected in my sig, is probably the least expensive part of my car... Supporting Mods are expensive and like Jaime said, are or should be figured into the price of the build...

With the SS or the LT/LS, regardless of the brakes, the 17 inch Welds will clear the FRONT brakes, and I'm pretty sure the 17 inch Bogarts are the same

I have 17 inch Welds on the back of my car, but I have the adjustable LCA...and I simply have to tie the e-brake line up closer to the trailing arm so it doesn't rub...
