Like others, I'd be curious as to the part number old vs new as well.

----------------------

Come on guys don't leave out the juicy details from your posts. It's like you're begging us to extract the intel from you. I can understand seeing something and not remembering exactly where or what it was so you just post what you know, and I'm not against searching either, I did, but still. Grrrrr.

And just a general rant here and that is, how in the **** can they come up with a fix and then make sure nobody can get it? Seriously, who does that? You don't mention, by any means, that you have the fix ready unless you have plenty of the new parts to go around. I flippin' hate how companies try to protect their bottom line like this. If they make 1000 and only 500 call in to get it, they wasted money so instead they make 10 and 500 people still call in. What are the 490 other people going to do, go somewhere else? Grinds my gears I tell ya. Same reason they won't publicly admit fault and do a recall, would cost too much and hurt their image at the same time. Whatever happened to doing the right thing, whatever the cost? /rant
well thats just it i cant remember which thread i saw it in. otherwise i would have posted it

I figured as much. No harm done. Just had to vent a little, you understand.

Ok I was looking back in the files of GM Techlink and they have a paragragh in the Feburary files that states that: "A new dash pad that resolves this condition is now available through GM Customer Care and Aftersales". There was no link to the aforementioned statement. You can see the paragraph at GM Techlink (Feb.archives) on the right side. The paragraph is about halfway down. Hope this helps.

Update: Dash Pad Appearance
February 25, 2013
The dash pad area surrounding the radio center stack on some 2012-2013 Camaros may appear to be deformed or wrinkled. (Fig. 6) This area may be slightly to the left or right of the center stack, or directly above it. The trim piece does not appear like this when the car was new.

A new dash pad that resolves this condition is now available through GM Customer Care and Aftersales.

My bubbles disappeared during the winter so now I am waiting for them to come back before taking it in...

Thanks gents. Sounds like it's about time to visit the dealer then.

Went to the dealer today for an alignment under the limited service warranty and brought up the dash bubbling.
He was able to find the document (nearly identical to the one linked above - same description, image) and ordered the part. They mentioned it was the same part number as the old and it could take up to 3 weeks to arrive.
What concerned me is they said it wasn't a simple removal, that the entire dash needed to be taken apart to replace it and that could take 3+ hours.
I've read on here that should not be the case, any thoughts?

If he were removing the whole dash it would be much more then 3 hours. Most dealers would say a day.
