2016 Camaro or C7 or ATS-V?

With a $65k budget would you go with:

2016 Camaro SS loaded (-minus sunroof); remainder for mods

2016 Corvette Z51 w/ museum delivery

2016 ATS-V w/ track pack

I am at a point where I can not decide (I know, real problem ).
I love my 2010 Camaro with all of its mods, but I always thought it's replacement would be higher up the food chain at GM.

The C7 tail lights are my only gripe. They look great blacked out on the Z06, but that is way out of my budget. It would be great if they offered a GS of the C7 but that likely won't come around until sales decline.

The ATS-V was moved to the top of the list until I found out it's not a V8 . Don't get me wrong, a TT V6 is very appealing, but was hoping they would have dropped in something ZL1 worthy under the hood.

That leaves me looking at a 2016 Camaro SS. Info is very limited, but my gutt tells me that there won't be things I really want at launch… like heated wheel, heated/cooled seats, factory installed rally/hockey stripes or hood blackout, beefier sways f/r, 1LE or Z51 pkg w/ or w/o MRC, factory cam upgrade, mobile app remote start/lock/etc., turn by turn Nav w/o OnStar req., RS style wing on a SS or no wing option, window down feature from fob (holding unlock), TC off on start up (tunable) and Data recorder (ATS-V and C7 have as options).
There are a few other options like backup camera and lane avoidance stuff I would like to see as options, not sure if I would add them though.

The power of all 3 is a bit less than I hoped, wish all were a lot closer to 500hp at the crank. But I can get the SS there fairly easy with what's left over (staying NA).

2016 Corvette Z51 w/ museum delivery since you already have a SS.
I will be adding a 2016 (not sure of engine yet) for me (daughter really)

I would do the Corvette, if it were my money. I think the C7 is one of the most beautiful cars available today, regardless of price.

C7 1LT MRC PDR z51 8l90 is pretty much the best car for even twice the cost of it.

A 65k camaro would have to be a hell of a car for me not to laugh.

doesn't look like camaro is gonna have the PDR for at least the start of the generation

Atsv looks promising, not gonna get a turboed 6 cylinder car as long as a better NA v8 exists....... Makes no sense for me, it's a car for a different kind of car guy

oh...loaded 6amaro SS and send to Hennessy or the like for 650HP package.

Would only go C7 Z06 so need another 20K budget. (yes, you can pick up a Z06 with Z07 PP and required ground effects package AND PDR for around 85K right now - that's about 7K off MSRP.)

Since your going to mod it I say SS no question. If you were leaving it stock I would say C7 no question. Even if you spent $45k on a SS that leaves $20k for mods and $20k put into a SS is going to be a serious BEAST. A new SS with $20k of mods will rape those other cars.

(staying NA).
That TT V6 is 400 HP, I was hoping that they would put that into the 6th Gen LT along with the MRC and Brembos the 13.6 not the 12.6. If they had I would have definitely traded my 5th for a 6th.

The TTV6 in the ATS-V is probably an expensive engine as well. There are titanium components used so there is no way they can drop that engine in the V6 model and charge mid 20s for it. Plus, it more or less over laps the LT1, so there would be no reason to have the TTV6 and LT1 Camaro.

As for the question, I would wait and see what comes of the 1LE package.

Personally, I think that is a good dilemma to be in.

It depends on what you want out of the car. Those three are all different in their own right.
You should drive all of them if you can wait until later this year for the Camaro.

That being said... C7 and don't look back, IMO. I might be a bit biased, though, as that was my choice. There's a good reason it's selling like hotcakes and has loads of outstanding reviews.

For the exception of (nearly useless) back seats, the C7 has everything the SS will have and more, and weighs ~400 lbs less (Probably just over 3700 for the loaded Camaro, and just over 3300 for the Z51). That weight difference means that you would need to start at 500hp in the Camaro just to equal the 460 in the C7... and you still have 400 lbs less to chunk through the turns and reign in by the (massive) brakes. Visibility isn't bad, either.
We don't yet know how well the 6thgen does or doesn't hook up, but the C7 might better that still (all other things equal). The best bone-stock auto's are pulling 1.7x 60's.
It gets better gas mileage (lighter AND more aerodynamic), has a targa top (full solid roof when you want it, open sky cruising when you don't), and you will have a full warranty which you will lose the important parts of when you modify the Camaro.
If you like a driver-focused interior, it doesn't get much better than the C7. It is a very nice place to be if you do. For me, it is nearly perfect.

Don't get me wrong, the 6th gen Camaro looks to be the best Camaro ever and simply a great performance car period, but it would have to be flat out magical to top the C7 as a complete package, even with well thought out mods. Like Matt Farah said: "Yes, it really is that good". However, as everyone rightly says: "YMMV".

No offense to the ATS-V (it's awesome too), but for me it comes in third out of those three as it doesn't tick all the right boxes. Just personal preference.
At the end of the day, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them from what I've seen and heard so far.

I wish you luck in your decision!

P.S. The Z06 taillights are a direct swap.

The 3.6 TT in the ATS-V is 460 hp.

And OP don't complain about wanting a ZL1 in the ATS-V. That is the mission for the CTS-V and that's going to run a bit over $80,000.

So all things being equal, an ATS-V and an SS with MR and Electronic rear diff will be almost a coin toss for performance. I would argue that the better content in this chassis should be in the V, not the SS. But we will have to wait for that answer.

The better performing car would obviously be the C7.

As for spending your balance on mods? Well that why I didn't answer your poll. I wouldn't mod a car. But if that floats your boat, I'm pretty sure a SC on the LT1 will easily put both of your other choices in the weeds.
