That relationship died with the gen4 car.

Most collectible? my guess would be the Callaway-built Hendrick Anniversary car if any are still left for sale.

none of those cars will be worth as much as u think cause everyone is gonna treat them like they are worth money. the older camaro's are worth so much cause of our lack of knowledge back then of how many made.

Also as HDDan said:

It is typically the undesirable...the cars that just sat on lots and never sold end up being highly collectible...

Think about the most Valuable Camaro Ever, The 1969 ZL-1. Only 69 of these Bad Boys were ever built, 50 were sent to Fred Gibb Chevrolet in LaHarpe, Illinois and I think Dick Harrell and company may have gotten the rest. The cost of the all aluminum 427 Block nearly doubled the price of the car.

Gibb just couldn't sell these cars (the price tag around $7,200 was even sticker shock to him when other high Performance units Z-28, L-78, L-89 and even cast iron COPO 9561......could be had anywhere around $3,500-$4,500)

Gibb practically begged Chevrolet to take the ZL-1 Camaros back (although he did sell 13 I think) So chevy took the others back and re-invoiced them and distributed them out to other Hi-PO Chevy Dealerships.

They are now worth a Mint!!!!! (and the limit to only 69 probably helped)

I wouldn't bank my retirement on ANY 5th Gen.

They will NEVER bring the money that Limited Number, High Horsepower, First Gens bring.

I think SLP is very much tied to GM. If you look at the hood of the Transformer Concept it is very much like the SLP Hood. Also, the wheels on the Dale Jr car and also the convertible concept had the same Gray Spoke "Red Line" wheels that are being offered on the SLP Camaro.

http://slpcamaro.com/

I guess I am partial in that my Cyber Gray 2SS/RS (now at 3400-order broadcast) will be going to SLP to become one of their 437 models

What about Jay leno's car? It is number 155. Also, a factory stock car will always retain a better price. Shelbys were commissioned by Ford and are therefore "factory cars". The ones that get modded by the aftermarket will be called "period correct". Just ask the guys with the Harley type "custom choppers" what their $100,000.00 abortions are worth. Yenkos were made with the approval of GM or through the "central office production order" (COPO) program and are "factory cars".
