TAG's pix of INDY....and a lil' something...

Well,

Finding the time to sit down and say all I want to say has been pretty difficult lately. Nothing is wrong...just a time issue. And there's never enough of it. But, let me try and get this out with out too much dragging on...

Let me start by saying a HUGE thank you to all involved with the Indy unveil...mainly the special "thanks" to the Central Indiana Camaro Club and GM (everyone from the team) for putting all of this together (I can't even begin to imagine all that had to happen to make this possible!!!). CRAZY!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, this was an event to remember for a lifetime. Plain and simple. For those who were lucky enough to be able to attend, you know what I mean. For those who were not able to go due to one circumstance or another, I sure hope the pictures and stories shared here will help.

..................

I was pretty much at a loss for words the entire trip. So, taking a laptop wouldn't have done me any good anyway.... Seriously, there was so much going on all at once that it was tough to take it all in!

Going through all that happened here would take hours...and many posts....so...I'll just let ya'll look at the pictures and enjoy. Any questions over any of the pictures will hopefully be asked.

But I do want to share this....

I met some wonderful people at Indy....people I've known for years but have never met.....people that I WISHED lived down the street from me so we could spend the afternoons together not just talking about cars, but about life in general. Man, there are some good people out there..... makes ya feel good inside, you know?

Turtle and Naomi, I'm so happy to have met these two wonderful people a couple years ago. You guys are a blast to be around. Thank you for sharing your weekend and excitement with me. If only there was more time, I'd do the fair with ya'll and every other event I could possibly make. Not all the time will I be able to make it. But, those times we do get together, ....it's great! I know there will be many more....and I look forward to them all. Thanks for the memories.

MisterCamaro, thank you for those pictures you put up so quickly for everyone to see. You know you had hundreds of eyes glued to the screen waiting to see what was next. Everyone really needs to give this man a hand. And...you were right. GM did do it. To both the younger crowd and the lucky ones who were around when the 1st Gens began roaming the streets. They really hit the mark!

Jason, the enthusiasm in your voice was incredible on the phone calls. I know you would have given anything to have been there and shared in the excitement with all of us. Thank you. Sincerely....thank you. You know what for. And I EXPECT to meet you at the our next event!!!

Mike and Kate, you guys are too cool. I could soooo easily hang out with ya'll anytime. Distance....it sucks! But, we'll have to do it again sometime. And, if you ever come to San Antonio, know you've got a place to stay. I know I made long time friends when I met ya'll....just kinda sad that it took so long!

Joe, not enough time. Not NEAR enough. Like you said, I wish you would have been there on Thursday and stayed through Monday. Too much to talk about and nowhere near enough time. I am VERY happy to have met you....and to now know for FACT that you are not a GM employee!!! HAHAHAHA!!! Unless you are just a younger GM employee??? We'll do it again...and with more time on the next occasion.

Al, thanks for the awesome shirts! They really did come out well. And, like I told you, I knew you'd get too much of my money!!! 11 shirts?!?! Dang! And I was only planning on getting 6!!! HA! But, great job on the shirts...and to be the first website to have EVER gotten GM licensed shirts (according to John Fitzpatrick on the stage when auctioning off those two pilot shirts)....just too cool. I can't believe he held them up there like that and made a big deal out of our shirts. Thanks for coming up with that particular design, Joe and thanks for getting them done Al! Oh, and we will DEFINITELY be doing business again in the near future! another shirt run perhaps?? ....and maybe a new shirt come Feb???

Gary and Jolie, it was great meeting ya'll. I know you two are a bit up north, but we will all have to get together sometime in the near future. Too bad you had to run back home early. It was a great ride home...and stopping at the corvette assembly plant?!?!

Boy....this list could get long....and I said I'd make it quick to get to the pictures (of which there were 777 pictures and videos!!!...and they are ALL uploaded to photobucket!!!).....so, Dan, Sean, Nelson, Max, Elie, Pink, Hylton, ....awe, heck EVERYONE! It was GREAT meeting all of ya'll and I look forward to our next get together!!!

But...I do need to say thank you to Scott.

Sir (and I know you don't like it when I call you that)...but still...YOU are the ultimate reason that last weekends event even occurred. You are the reason the dream was kept alive for so long by helping us to keep the faith. I HONESTLY don't know how you do it...how you find the time. I bet every time you sign on, you have 50 new PM's....and 30 something new emails asking you all sorts of questions....and get phone calls....and on and on...but you do it....you find the time. It's increadible!

I saw how busy you were at Indy...how you had groups of people around you 24/7 and every single person had a question. It was like MisterCamaro said...someone would ask a question and you'd answer....and 5 minutes later another person would come up and you'd get asked the same question but still give that enthusiastic answer. It's just beyond me....hehe.

I just wanted you to know that I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here for us...for the Camaro community. You could have moved on. But people like you really know what the Camaro is about. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Now take the damn sock out of your mouth...

OK! Time for the pix!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

and look who we ran into on the way!!!!

We stayed just a little north of Nashville otw in a town called Goodletsville. I look out the door and what do I see???
Two BEAUTIFUL NBM SS's along with our two SS's.

What beautiful country Tenn is...

Of course, we had to make a little stop at the Corvette Museam otw...

there were some gorgeous vettes inside. to see more pix inside, check out the final photobucket link...

almost there!

anyone want to take a guess as to what this stands for??? I KNOW!!!

and who drives this one???

Naomi suddenly came across these...

but this....

quickly showed up reminding us of what happened to....

But that next morning..........oh boy....were we in for a treat!!!

But Scott saw me in the IVER and quickly ran out to us....Soon, I found myself in...

But it was worth it, because we found...

the standard key for the new Camaro

I'm 6'4" and had NO trouble sitting in the IVER. It was....quite possibly 8 inches further back than in my current 02 SS. Incredible room! I had to move the set FORWARD to sit where I was supposed to!!!! No worries taller folks! YOU WILL FIT!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, they had a different car for every color the Camaro will be made in out there....VERY cool to see first hand all the colors up close and personal out in the sun!

and then there was this thing under some cover...just couldn't tell what the heck it was....lol

and we sat and waited for that cover to be ripped off....

waited patiently...

and they talked....and we waited.... patiently....lol

Then it happened and a cover came off!!!

and the door opened!

The ride and drive was great! Going to skip over those pix for now and move on to some others....

moving on...ok...maybe I will post one or two...

anyone know who this guy is??

and....it was back to the SS

they rear sllits MUST be closed....if they are cut open, they open to the interior of the car...which mean they would have to be made functional and there was no need to make them functional on a car who's rotors don't get that hot anyway....according to Al. But, cost wise...way too much to have them open. Won't work w/out a lot OF work.

dude...anyone see the defroster for the side mirrors?!?!?!

only ONE hydraulic type piston thingy holding up the hood....can't believe I forgot the name right now...and I've got too many pix to post up to look for the name.

gasoline alley

hundreds of Camaros....and is that a duck?!?!

Of course ya'll know who else showed up!

push car...no interior...kinda cool

the following morning...

Then we had the Q and A session'

check this out...ambient lighting in the works. NOT FINAL PRODUCTION, But a good idea anyway...
REMOVED

and some accessories??

From the banquet...

we promptly tried to take off in the yellow RS upon finding the keys....but someone reminded us of what would happen if we did try!!

And there are so many more.

If you want to see some more pix, check out the photobucket link. There are HUNDREDS!!!

Never go to hear it. Wasn't around when they trailered it. But, the IVER sounded pretty good. It was a low rumble, but they never got on it to really show it off.

Saturday morning after they unloaded the yellow, then red car they had them all running to make sure all their batteries were charged up. In fact the very first time the silver car was started the whole time it was there was Sat. morn. Were very careful to not to rev the silver car, and of course the red car, didn't even rev the yellow car. Scott kept saying the exhaust note wasn't finalized. They did however goose the IVER car real good a couple of times, sounded pretty bad-ass!

Tag, we had a great time hanging out with you as always. One of the best parts of the weekend was watching you experience all of these things for the first time. I kept telling Turtle, "Remember our first event like this?" I just wish you were able to make it to Dallas with us. :(

I want to go so badly, but won't be able to make it. I can only take off so much time from work...and I'm getting back to work today. BUT...I took off patrol to work the San Antonio auto show Oct 1st - 5th. I work Wed PM, Thurs AM, Fri AM, and Sun AM....all working security for the Vert! How cool is that?!?! I get to "work" AND talk cars!

I know...sticks big time. Hey, ya'll will be down here on Sat night, though, right? During the auto show for dinner on the riverwalk? I have to work that day, but I already spoke to my boss who agreed to let me off early....I'll be getting off at 6pm.

it was a really amazing time, but I think Tag's visit to the NCM and Corvette Assembly Plant can be summed up in one picture:

I have my own big, huge post coming soon and will have a similar picture line to follow
