Drag Racing Insurance?

Is there insurance available for drag racing my ZL1 on a legal track? My current insurer does not cover it nor do they know of anyone that does. I'd like to drag race my ZL1 a few times, but I don't want to risk making a $60,000 mistake by damaging or destroying it.

There are companies that offer racing insurance typically by the year... The more you race the better the value and typically it's a stated value policy... It'll cover you from the burnout box the the turn off... I'll see if I can find a link...

I have seen it for HPDE, but not for drag racing a street vehicle, there are a number of them that write insurance for competition only drag cars, but not a street legal car...but there must be at least one company out there that write it...good luck.

These are the people I deal with for my land speed racing... Bare in mind it's pricey but way cheaper than the alternative...

One thing i found a few years ago when looking for coverage for my 67 when drag racing was i could get coverage, but only if it were a sanctioned event. Not Test and Tune and such. This was 5 years ago, things may have changed so make sure u ask questions.

Right pedal means go.
Left pedal means stop.
After that...driving school. Roy Hill's school still open?

I suggest you stop worrying, go drag race the car and have fun! The car is amazing on the strip and is more behaved than most 14 second cars... Leave TC on if you are that worried about it...

I remember a poor guy that wrapped his new ZL1 around a post during auto cross at the C5 Fest in Indy. He discovered later that day he was on his own. My point, great question and worth consideration. Personal choice but be informed when making it.
