Fuel reset question

I am well aware of only fueling with 93+ octane, but my 1LE has been sitting in storage all winter long until today with fuel that's probably around 4 months old.

Considering gasolines' octane level drops over a few months, do most of you guys/gals let your computer reset over night after seasonal storage? Just curious. I'm taking the beast out to Woodward Avenue tonight for some cruising either way! Thanks.

I read a thread on the ZL1 forum about this. They said that the car sets itself to the first octane level that was put into the car at the factory. It is non-learning. To reset it, 2 fuses had to be pulled over night for the circuit to reset. Sorry for the blurry picture and go to the ZL1 forum for very detailed information. Does anyone know what Octane level they use at the factory?

no worries about the picture, thanks for the reply. I did quite a bit of reading on the fuel reset thread thats floating around here. I was not aware our fuel system being non-learing.

It learns by constantly trying to max advance the ignition timing and monitoring bank 1 and bank 2 knock sensors. When detonation occurs due to low octane fuel it will back off timing to compensate. It is always learning.

Pulling the fuses overnight is a quick way of dumping the memory and learned values to that particular engine and driver. But this isn't a 85' TUNED PORT. It monitors everything hundreds of times a second.

That still a little over an hour away from me. What is the price per gallon right now for the racing fuel?
