I have seen the hydrodipping come out really nice, but never from a "do it yourself" kit. It was only a matter of time before they did something like this though.. Im curious to see what it will come out like too.

I used it to do my dash and door panels and my fuse box lid under the hood. Came out great.

I tried it myself once (bought supplies from somewhere else) with "pretty decent" results, but I screwed up one of the door panel inserts and never finished the project. See pics here:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...42&postcount=1 I imagine if I would have finished and clear coated the parts, they actually would have looked pretty good. I bought the biggest rubber maid container I could find and did this in my bathtub in my house. This was back before aerosol activator and paints were available. I've bought the film and some things in the past from El Pasopowder coating, and Liquid Concepts. I've read a lot of good things about the new One Hit Wonder paints (ad adhesion promoter, primer, and base coat all in one; ohwpaint.com). I bought some not too long ago and may attempt the project again sometime in the future. Pricing on the mydipkit store doesn't seem to be too bad? It might be worth a shot. |

I cheated & just had a shop do everything, better work and the finished parts are flawless. Cost plus time is better in the end..
