customizing stock exhaust for HP?

Have stock exhaust on SS but right in middle of exhaust were big boxes are look like heat shilds I removed all that put 2 strait through resinators and then deleted mufflers out...actually bought whole second stock exhaust that had this done for $50 coildnt go wrong but anyway the car seems to run noticable btr not to mention sounds mean as hell...is this my imagination or will this actually make run btr would think it would sense its less restricted..
Can't wait for CAI AND TUNER TO ARRIVE!!!

It will make the engine breathe easier for sure. If your adding a CAI also, you might as well get headers to take advantage of the new exhaust work, and make the tune worthwhile.

It's your imagination. It has been proven time and time again any exhaust mods rear of the cats are quite worthless on the 5th gen beyond noise. Unless your making huge power and need to go bigger for flow.

The only things that make an otherwise stock A6 run better are headers, tune & the tranny tune. That will wake it up for sure.

The stock catback is pretty free flowing already. The biggest choke point is the stock exhaust manifolds (even those flow fairly well) and the cats themselves.
