Crystal Red is a carry over.

They are essentially the same colors, with different names.
You are correct in that Crystal Red is carry-over.

Red Hot looks decidedly different next to Victory Red.

Red Rock looks nothing like Inferno Orange Metallic -- one is bright orange, the other is a rust/bronze color - much darker.

One of my coworkers owns one of these. I park next to it often. It's a pretty sweet color for a Challenger. Not sure how it would look on a Camaro though.

Red Hot (G7C) is also available on the Chevrolet Cruze.

Not as orange as Victory Red.

Why, its a semi-bland, not too exciting shade of "sorta" blue but mostly gray... fits perfectly in the Camaro color palette of low key colors. All the real blues are gone, synergy green is gone, and our bright orange has been replaced with a rusty "burnt" color. But hey, at least there's still a bright red and yellow.

What I meant by the post is that they are SIMILAR. And that those colors replaced victory red and IOM. I guess I shouldn't have said they are essentially the same colors because they clearly are not, but they are slight variations. One is still orange, and the other is still red.

unless you're an enthusiast you aren't going to buy yellow, orange or teal green... and most people see the car on the lot and just get it. it makes sense to go with tame colors, they aren't off putting to potential customers.

I literally also get told "thank god you didn't get yellow or orange!" They're nice but a bit too much for the average person

"Unless you're a car enthusiast"? Well isn't that who is supposed to be buying Camaros? Sorry, I don't think the Camaro was designed "for the average person", so the colors should be a little bolder and brighter than "average". Not saying they can't have some bland colors for you guys that like average, but there should also be a wide selection of eye catching colors too.
