IPF Supercharger round 2 : turnup the boost
Hey everyone I'm making this post to track my build and install of my new IPF supercharger and it's coming mods.
First the back story I've had my 2011 full bolt on and tuned LLT for about 2 years before I decided to buy a used low mileage IPF kit from a member on the form for 4k with tune. I loved being on boost but I had no idea I would encounter so many problems because of lack of experience on my part. During the install I broke my power steering pump, causing me over a 1000 in repairs. Next my fake cats went bad and had to be straight piped more money. Next my x pipe had to be replaced because a baffle blew out. Lastly the engine lost oil from a front engine cover leak and it seized up while in the possession of the dealership. I had To buy a new LLT and have my old one replaced. Now I'm ready for round 2 brand new IPF LLT KIT with tune and trans tune. Mods order MM catch can system redo Boost Gague AFR wideband Denso ITV24 IAT relocation Mods soon to come Snow meth kit 3.33 pulley change HP tune Mods currently on car Ported throttle body Ported intake manifold stage 3 OBX careless long tube headers lol catless auto correct ZL1 front end Full exhaust with res x pipe Weight reduction as follows Spare wheel and change kit -50 Rear.... -27 Washer bottle delete -3 -25 forged wheels So about -105 from stock The kit will be here Tuesday looking forward to putting up my install pics Wednesday Last edited by IBM camaro; 08-02-2014 at 09:27 AM. |

Wouldn't get too greedy with the boost right off the bat, you need to make sure your engine is handling stock boost with no knock retard first. Finding a good gas station is the most important thing, I go to one gas station only now since all others caused 10 degrees of knock retard and this one has 0 degrees.
Also at 14 psi of boost you will want to have the Snow Performance Safe Injection Module with a By-Pass Valve solenoid. If the meth goes out you will be running well over 14:1 AFR, 13:1 is a good safe spot for our engines. |

Holy crap...did you say you bought a new LLT? Motor or car?
I love my V6 but I would have just traded up at that point. lol

When you do the IAT make sure to seal it up as best you can with RTV. I just bought a screw in type IAT, my push in type keeps pissing meth out of it. |
