The guy with the 1993 Corvette convertible might be interested in my stock SS wheels. Would they fit?

The 5.0L guys have a few advantages in their corner from the get go. Lighter chassis, solid axle for traction and cheap/simple suspension bits. Also, yes the MT82 has definitely been a pain, but the gearing puts the engine in the sweet spot every single shift. Also, the 6R80 is probably one of the strongest automatics ever put in a car. I've never seen any other stock trans have the ability to hold the power to run 9s.
Well im hoping to take him consistently off the line and hold him off till the end. I know he will trap more then me but my holeshot should be killer once the tune gets sorted out.

Lol....my boat only goes to loud parties that have nice water up to your waist....gorgous girls in bikinis....and my Mackie Thump self powered speakers pounding music off the swim platform. Just the right dance mix to keep the ladies shaking and quakin. Can you handle that responsibility.

I looked up the stock sizes and they are supposed to be staggered 17's, but he told me he has 18's on the rear.

Ron I'm having a Circle D 3200 installed soon.

From the looks of your video, you are still running 20" stock wheels. These don't have enough sidewall and are too stiff to stall it up on the launch without spinning. It also doesn't sound like your stalling the car up when staged.

17" or 18" wheels are going to be on my rears for sure after installing the converter. I want to be able to stall it up to 3000 at the line. I'm also changing stock toe links and trailing arms, to prevent damage to the axles under hard launch.

If you haven't put a transmission cooler on, I'd do that as well, inexpensive, and will keep temps down on your looser stall.

For a 3200 stall and your mods, you should get a .3-.4 reduction in the 1/8th with smaller wheels and better DR's. The car in this video ran 7.76 in the 1/8th, which translates to a 1/4 mile of around 12.2.

Yes my rims are stock with nitto 555r drs. In this run i flashed the converter ...the car seems to like that. I stalled up to around 1900 or so before and blew the tires off in first and the gear change to 2nd. I also have 391 gears so my launch is a little tricky.....im doing some changes to the tune so im hoping things get corrected after that. Thanks for the input.

It's going to blow off the tires running 20". I'm running the same wheel/tire setup as you are now, minus the converter and gear. Only being able to stall around 1500 with my stock TC, the 555R's still chirp off the line, on a very well prepped surface. No way they will hook at all stalling at 3000.

I agree your car needs tranny tuning as well, but with your current wheel/tire setup, you'll never get the power to the ground off the line like you will with smaller wheels and DR's with more sidewall, even with the tranny shift points set right.
