My manual says see dealer for fluid type but the Tremec site says
Lubricant type: Dexron III ATF. So what are you guys putting in it?

Another reason to remove the fill plug first - if you have some strange weird problem getting that out - better to find out before you've got the gearbox empty.

Can you use redline d4 ATF in the manual transmission? I accidentally used it instead of the redline d4 atf/manual transmission and transaxle fluid???

I use gm syncromesh. everyone is different. it takes a while to warm up , and shifting is stiff till then but its ok. the bottle says that it never breaks down. I used it in a t56 after I had liberty's rebuild it.

I replaced the stock fluid with Royal Purple Syncromax about two months after buying the car (back in 2012). It is noticeably better, specifically going into first, and no longer needed to be warmed up like the stock fluid.
LS3 with manual.
