rear spoiler install
ok, have a used rear lip spoiler, do any of you think i can get away with just using the 4 holes 2 on each end and do away with the middle 2 holes? or should i just drill out all 6 holes actually 7 if i use the plastic clip pin on it as well, seems like over kill for such a light spoiler, plus i figure if i can just use the 4 holes thats less holes to drill in the trunk, any thoughts, ideas? dont want to screw this up

WOW 7 holes?! I only had to drill 4 for the high-rise spoiler and its alot bigger and heavier. I tucked the brake light cord back up in the spoiler cause I didn't want to drill a 5th hole and the 2 brake lights at the same time seamed like a little overkill to me. I think you can get away with only 4 with no problem but thats just me.

well, thats what i was thinking I am thinking of just getting rid of the plastic pin which doesnt hold anything and maybe just drill the 4 or maybe 1 of the other two towards the center.

If your going to do it....do it right. Dont cut corners. If you have all the tools out and are set up to do the job why not just drill the other 3 holes.Just my $.02

spoiler
yeah i think you are right, just afraid the more holes to drill the more chance of messing it up,. I made a template of the spoiler, so hopefully i will mark the holes correctly and get it right

Mine has been installed with the four outer holes with no issues for more than two years.

Mine was styled just like the factory spoiler, but did not have studs. There were threaded holes in the bottom of the spoiler and the bolts installed from underneath.

I cut off that plastic stud. Put tape where you think the spoiler is going to go. Pop out the black gourmets, drilled holes through the trunk lid, pilot holes first. Assure that the holes are going to line up with the spoiler, then drill your larger holes, and attach.
