Gears

What is a decent gear set that can handle a launch or two?

What he said, except I have the 3.23 and we both 60ft low 1.40s

I think alot of guys go with a TruTrac + Lpw cover etc etc if sticking with the stock rear. I think 3:73 or 3.91 would be good with those turbos?

I found the ZL1 rear most economical by a long shot.

Wasn't sure if the OE gears was a weak link or not

Is motive gear a bad company? I've heard several people saying to not go with Richmond gears so I don't know who to go with.

The stock gears are very tuff. Made by AAM American Axle &Manufacturing. They generally do not break. The stock SS housing is aluminum and it will flex. Causing the gears to go out of alignment. I have been using 3.91 gears with JRE caps and LPW cover. That combo seems to last.
But I am doing a Turbo400 swap with transbreak this winter so I am swapping out to a ZL1 3.73 diff. Just to be on the safe side.

Are you going to sell your diff. With the 3.91? I am in Peoria and I am planning that swap next year.

Yes I will have my SS diff with the JRE upgrade with 3.91 gears and LPW cover. Also DSS driveshaft and 1000hp Axles.

Let me know what you want for the diff when the time comes. How many miles on it?

^^also interested in 3.91 diff if it falls through with Red. Doing tons of winter projects to the car, would love to cap it off with gears if I could make it happen
