Continuing black out theme: Plasti dipped side badges

I'm continuing my plasti dip theme. Today I plasti dipped the side "Camaro" badges. I know it's been said many times, but plasti dip is amazing. I couldn't believe how well it worked and how easy it was to use and remove.

Next, I might do my rear tail light bezels and maybe...the lower front fascia.

After

looks good and definitely better than removing them off the car

Looks great! I can't decide whether to plasti dip mine or just remove them completely but plasti dipping them does look good

Plastidip Taillight Bezels, they are extremely easy to pop out, I used a plastic pry tool as to not scratch my Tail Lights.: 1 hour (mostly dry time). I did both Bowties, I tried the letters, but did not come out too good, my tapeing was not that good :(

to do letters you do not need to tape in the normal sense... - the key is 3-4 coats - see the video at diptyourcar.com - 4th video down:

Agreed. I left a 1" border around the letters. You can probably see it in the middle pic I posted. So it looked like a rectangle window around the letters.

Ok...you convinced me. The bowtie is not completely done yet. I did the whole thing in black. But there is painter's tape in the middle (with plasti dip on it). My plan is to remove the middle tape and paint it red or use vinyl overlay. I'm thinking vinyl so I don't mess up my paint with overspray. I painted my front bowtie red today too, but don't have pics posted yet.

I love the way it came out. I think it goes together better now. (don't pay attention to my messy garage...that's a whole other project).

nice work - I love PD for stuff like this...hate it on wheels, but love it on trim..it self levels so easily everyone paints like a pro...keep tire shine away from it though, eats right thru it...

I don't quite understand. So did you just paint that entire rectangle and just peel the extra off of your paint?? If so how hard was this and was there any paint damage?

You got it. It's like magic...hard to explain. You peel it like sticky film and it does all the work. PM me if you want me details.

Make sure when you do the lower fascia you spray a good layer on the taped edge and take the tape off early. I took mine off early but still got a jagged edge from the PD sticking to the tape.
