Rear seatback popping open..
If I hit the brakes with stuff in the trunk, such as a couple cubes of soda on my way home from the store, the latch that holds the rear seatback up fails and the seatback falls open when trunk stuff slides into the seatback. It's done it about 3 times now. each time it's happened I check to make sure it's properly latched after push the stuff back into the trunk.
Luckily I don't have kids sitting in the back seat when this happens. I'm gonna guess it's not designed to kill me by tossing trunk stuff at me when I hit the brakes or fold the kids in half. Anyone else seen this issue? I'll be taking it to the dealer to have them check the latch. but I figured I'd give everyone a heads up regarding this possible safety hazard.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's not an undocumented feature.
I mainly posted so that those who may have kids in the backseat may want to test the latch by trying to get the latch to fail by either pushing from the trunk or yanking on the seatback from inside to make sure it won't fail on them.

I had that happen to me once. I hit the brakes and all of a sudden got a rush of air in the car! Scared the crap outta me! Then I realized the seat backs fell down. I had just gotten some audi work done the day before and when they put the rear seats back up the seat belts got behind them and kept them from latching completely.
Bring it to the dealer and have them make sure there isn't a problem with the latch. If there is then I'm sure it will be covered, and hopefully it won't happen again! -Mike

This happened to me as well, just the other day. There were no passengers, but I suspect if there had been, the next launch would have put everything back in place.
I don't recall the contents of the trunk at the time. Unless it becomes a recurring issue I'm going to assume I didn't latch it properly myself. |

did you make sure nothing is caught behind the seat and that the seat belts aren't behind the seat when you latch it?
