Good to note, but I was replying to SSManga's comment of where the car & engine was being made and he thought it was only the US that bailed GM out. I just had to let him know it wasn't just the US government.

I'm sure you can find parts made even in Japan if you really looked.

I completely agree. i used work for a Chevy dealership many many years ago. and for a high end car like this you need to push for a MY13' replacement under the lemon law. GM wont just offer it to you. You are gonna have to keep pushing and fight for it. Trust me I have seen it work. GM will not give in lightly. And if you absolutely cant push anymore for a MY13' replacement, push for a complete drive train replacement. That will be your last resort and a compromise with GM. But it will work. I know its under warranty but the amount of money that is adding up for damages and labor on this will most likely be a lot and that will count towards your argument towards the lemon law. And as another last resort, if you must, all you have to do is consult with an attorney and once that gets moving GM will cave and either replace your entire car or the entire drive train cuz GM wont take the chance of giving you a free car if this were to go to litigation.

Sorry you are going through this. This really sucks. Good luck.

.

All those problems are no bueno.

I'm glad the service department seems to be doing all they can, but it is more than a little disconcerting to see so many issues on a new production ZL1.

Thanks for the post and please keep us informed as to your progress. I hope it's all straightened out to your satisfaction soon.

Raise hell. There are lemons in every brand new model and you got one. You should absolutely NOT have to deal with this inconvenience when purchasing a brand spanking new vehicle.

You must be a real patient and forgiving guy cause I would leave that car with keys at the dealership and make them give me a new one. There is no reason a new car should have all this ish wrong with it and them expecting u to keep it! The lemon law is there for a reason, use it dude. Hell they owe it to u for being this calm and patient about the whole thing!

Unless things have changed very recently this is not true. Camaro Ls3's are made in Canada. LS7 lS9 and dry sump LS3 for Grand Sport are made in Wixom, Michigan. CTSV and ZL1 LSA are made in Mexico. Someone from GM feel free to correct me if I have mistated anything.

As someone else on here already said, it is probably the rear main seal. The dealer tech is trying to rule out the easier stuff before he goes there since it is a more involved fix. Stay patient and I hope your Z gets back to 100% soon.
