lol you're very welcome. thnx for clarifying it makes sense now sort of you can shift the auto-tranny instead of the car but if you don't it will

It can be used to help slow down but if you do a lot of that the manual is a better option. *IMO. I never manually downshift my GM autos. Why? Because I am allergic to tranny bills. (broke arse).

Is this really all that funny? lol?

Just saying...it's not really funny, and people are probably going to think you're a bit crazy if you're sitting at your computer laughing out loud as you type.

Dude, that shifter is awesome. The tapshift is awesome but im not really looking forward to using it. I have it on my 08 Altima, and I really dont care for it at all.

I always say don't judge till you've experienced, how does it operate on your altima ?

I would venture to say that wouldnt be a fair comparison....

1xx hp/tq vs 400 hp/tq....

Exactly, My cousin has this sporty 07-08 Atima that he's always braggin about, and i always bust his chops because its just not impressive at all, it's all style and no substance, so i'm not surprised that you don;t like the TAPSHIFT on the Altima

I personally have not seen "tap-shift" in action, but from what I heard, if you don't downshift it will do it automatically for you?
What I noticed in the pictures above is that their are paddle shifters on both the right and left side. Is one paddle for up shifting, and the other for down shifting? I think that would make things easier if this is the case.

When in "M" the car will not shift upward unless you tell it to.
The car will prevent you from downshifting too early .... say you are hitting 6k rpm in 3rd gear.. and going into 2nd gear would be dumb and kill the car probably... The car will prevent you from downshifting if you are going to be over the rev limiter.

Upon braking / stoping.. (say from 5th gear) the car will automatically downshift for you like any normal automatic tranny would.

Hope this helps.

It will not downshift for you (except into 1st when you stop). It will prevent you from downshifting if the new gear will force you to over-rev.

Yes, downshift on the left, up-shift on the right.

How does the 6L80 shift ? does the trans shift any quicker when you select M for paddle shifting. AKA or will the trans need a tune to make it shift quicker. chirpchirp

I think any manual shifting is faster then auto shifting if you do it right, if your lookin 2 be chirpin gears i'd have a quick hand (and eye) and rely on the V8's torque
but PLEASE WAIT THE REQUIRED 2,000 break-in miles, you don't want that horror story when some guy gets a little over zealous with his brand new car, especially if your lookin 2 chirp down the straightaway lol
