What mods first guys?

alright, i have a bone stock 2013 ZL-1 AGM ,M6 I want to know what mods are good for performance? CAI i assume should be first on the list?? Which one is best? No road racing, although I will be taking it to the track this summer to put it through the paces!!!

And i also would like to change the Halos? I have seen several with red halos, and they look killer!! When i had my SS i put the chevy Cat back system on there and it sounded good, but I like the sound of the exhaust the Z has now? Any real advantages to changing the factory exhaust?

Basically? Baby steps here. One thing at a time, so i can see what difference each mod makes.. I will be keeping this one.. At least until the 6th gen comes out

And do the tail light (sequential) made for the SS work on the Z

Thanks for all input

My advice? Participate in a track day or two. Learning to be a better driver is a great mod for any car you drive. Plus TDs are great fun.

CAI is a great first mod if you are going for performance. Currently, the Roto-Fab is the best option out there and one of the only ones that don't require a tune. I am holding out until the spring to see what CAI, Inc comes out with.

As for the halos, I recommend the JDP Motorsports kit. Click on my signature to see my complete build thread for pics, I have an AGM ZL1 and have done a lot of appearance mods, so it may give you some ideas. I also have the Technostalgia rapid fire/ sequential tail lights installed along with a bunch of other lighting goodies you may want to consider. I hope this helps! Have fun with the mods!

Thanks for the compliment, it means a lot! I love the red halos and if I could have them on all the time I would, but it's not legal to drive with red lights on in the front in Illinois!

I'd suggest starting with a PCV Catch-Can and an intake system. The Roto-Fab is the best performer on the market. The factory cat-back is good if you like the sound but you might want to consider headers and/or a pulley upgrade down the road.

Please feel free to call, email or PM me anytime with questions!

Do what Deke did and strap an SR-71 Blackbird to the back.

I went with the rotofab CAI based on this forum and have no regrets. Looks good, performs well, sounds great and easy to install. I would also order a catch can as well. I just received mine and plan to install soon. Various locations in the engine compartment to install, so I would do a search for other member ideas. Good luck with your ride! Congrats.
