Break your car in as you see fit, but my first Camaro ('12 V6) literally left the dealership on the floor, tires screaching, at 14 miles. I drove it aggressive for the first 500 miles (which was in the first three days goofing off). When I traded it in at 18,750 it ran like a champ. My 1LE was bought with 1,700 miles so I had no say so on that break in.

Just over 13k miles on my 1LE and tires are still relatively ok...but I don't tear them up either. I've been on a couple 600-700 round trip drives that were smooth as can be.

The Camaros best on the highway. it loves to do 75+. With all its power it will do it with ease.

In my opinion, going easy on it for the first 1500 is a waste of time.

it IS best to break the engine in hard but it is also best not to drive hard on the rear gears for 500 miles. Change your rear gear fluid then drive it as you want.

I had the rear gear fluid changed when I had the LTs installed. It was pretty gross for only a couple thousand miles.

Go for it. My wife and I just made a 2300 mile round trip. No soreness or stiffness when we got to our destination. Decent mpg and also fun. Everywhere we stopped always got compliments and cars guys talking to me about it.

If you have no faith in the car then sell it and buy something you have faith in. I used mine on long trips every chance I got

SS or Not, the Camaro is an excellent road trip car. Half of the 36k I've put on my LT have been 1000 mile trips, more or less.
Love it.

I just bought my 2SS/RS and I am planning a trip to Miami from Massachusetts. Thats 1400 mi one way. I am going to have a complete blast on this trip. If I hurt it along the way, well thats freaking life bro. Take the trip. I remember way back in the 80's when I had my 70 1/2 Z/28 with 4.11's in the rear. I took it about 200 miles one way to the beach at Cape Cod with my girlfriend. We had a freaking blast, but as soon as I got home I installed a much more road worthy gear set in the back end. I think they were more like what is the SS/RS now 3.73 or so. I do think you wont get 25mph in the 1LE since it runs a bit more in the 3.90's. :-)

Just got into town to Houston Tx from N.e Ohio (1700 miles). 480 rwhp/422 lbs torque M6 cruising at 76-85 with some spirited runs to 120 and even a few challenges ( modded rt challenger that I mopped), averaged 22.6 mpgs! The trip was absolutely amazing and I felt rested and great after the trip. These cars are nothing less than amazing, and the ride comfort is remarkable. What a blast
