I had 3 other Camaros and they were fine in the snow as long as you know how to drive them. Don't let five days of weather change your mind about this one.
Its more then just weather... Its affordability I was recently laid off and lost my company vehicle and need a car I cannot afford the SS V8 the V6 is cutting it close with the LT1 being my only option. Problem with me buying the V6 camaro is that I would probably always wonder why I didn't get the V8... with the 09 WRX that isn't really a concern. If I could get 0% APR on the Camaro the decision would be easier.

the new sedans are ugly imo, I would only get the hatchback wrx sti but still not over the camaro

Obviously the styling doesn't live up to the 2010 Camaro but as a daily driver I liked the fact of having AWD for the winter and the performance isn't too shabby either with 0-60 clocking in at 4.8 and 1/4 at 13.5. It was a very comfortable drive and it basically can be two cars in one if you shift early you don't even notice it was a high performance vehicle and you get decent mileage but if you get on it pulls nice all the way to redline.

Unfortunately money is an issue for me right now and I wanted a SS but the insurance prices are insane here in MD even being 27 with a clean driving record. The 0% APR on the Subaru is looking so tempting to me right now I am going to go crazy making this decision.

Preparing for flaming don't be too harsh LOL
I think you need to go with your gut instinct and choose what is best for you in bad weather , financially and emotionally. Get the Subaru if it feels like a better fit. No flaming from me

wrx's are nice but i like the look of the evo's a lot more.

The AWD will help you out if you plan on driving in the winter.

They're two totally different animals. I of course would go with the SS, but I don't have to deal with snow here in sunny California. My girlfriend just picked up her 09 Impresa wagon (not sti), and it's a fun little car. Nowhere near my Z in terms of acceleration (flat 4 versus V8), but it handles like a mofo, and has good pickup for a DD. Fun little car.

I sold my 04 STI to get a Camaro, I hope I don't regret it.

WHAT You have got to be kidding. I excuse myself from this thread because a camaro maybe built in Canada but the money, part of it, stays here. Besides you gotta do what you gotta do.

Is that a real car?

I miss it everyday.
I was hooked the first time I drove an impreza.
GM has never built a car that feels like that.
If you want attention get the camaro.
If you want to enjoy the drive in the mountains / twistys, get the impreza.
Do yourself a favor though, get the STI or the SS, whatever it takes
Living in the midwest now, the camaro makes more sense. There's not a curved road within 1000 miles. I also really wanted open headers on a v8. If I move back to the mountains, I'm buying the first 2007 sti Ltd I can find. I don't care what people think of the way it looks. My SS still isn't as fast as that thing was.

Consider buying a 2007, alot changed in 2008, most of it wasn't good.
Save 10 grand, get a Cobb exhaust & tune, then dust SS's all day long.
I owned 3 imprezas from 2001 - 2009, NEVER had to get service at the dealership, warranty or otherwise. They're bombproof.
Enjoy the dilema.

Since when do people buy cars because the money "stays" here? Really who cares where the money goes not like we will ever see it

I do, I only buy american, you have to support your people man. When the economy falls apart (due to people not buying american) inflation hits, then your dollar becomes more and more useless, so it winds up affecting you, you just don't relize it. I could go on, but I really don't feel like getting into it at the moment...
