There are allocations for everything else this week, including Corvette, Z06 and the big sellers like Tahoes/Suburbans and full size trucks so I don't think it's due to the strike.
That's even worse news, for me anyway. Supply shortages coupled with a strike means very low odds of a '24 Camaro for The Green Bastard! Crossing fingers that the UAW decides to just make Stellantis the whipping boy for these negotiations.

Years

Attachment 1136340All,
If I may add my 3 cents to the above opines. In March of 2023 I read an article discussing the demise of the Camaro in 2024, January 2024 EOP to be exact.
So, I said to myself, since I've owned 2-1986 Z-28's and a 1995 Z-28 I should check into getting a 2SS-1LE before they are put to pasture. Now I thought about ordering a 2024, but after reading the 2024 limited production time I chose the 2023. I also took into account the read list from all the fine people on Camaro6 and GM authority. Factoring supply chain, constraints, and transportation it was a no brainer 2023. Got luck with allocation in March built May then shamed GM on Facebook with pix of all the cars sitting at Gran River plant, delivered June 5th. Moral of the story?? If you want a Camaro use chevy search tool because my 2023 looks like the 2024 and they are out there if you really want one because iffy strike? and 3 months left to EOP.
Happy hunting and never end the search! Threw in a couple of pix.
Cheers,
OSCM(SW) USN Ret

Assuming there is no strike, what is your guess about when the last alllocations will be given out.
And if there is a strike, do you think it will it decrease the total number of 24’s built?

I ordered a 2SS July 7th and I am number 2 at my dealer who so far has not gotten an allocation for any 24’s and I’m starting to worry. My dealer says he isn’t worried. He didn’t have any trouble getting my ‘22 in the middle of the chip shortage.

I ordered my first Camaro in 1969 when I was 20. Black SS/RS 375hp, 4-speed.
I’m still having fun😁😁

Question, would this strike have an actual impact on the total number of 2024 Camaros built? I get that builds may be delayed by however long the strike lasts, but if this is the final model year, and GM has a certain number of parts in the parts bin, it would seem to make sense that they'd clear the bins out even if it takes longer than January to clear the bins out. Otherwise they'd now be paying to dispose of parts, bodies, and engines "just because" it is January 2024, rather than getting paid ~$40-80k for each unit assembled.

I'm not arguing that MORE Camaros would get built if production stretches beyond January, only that none would be lost/truncated, since their January 2024 end of production date was probably based primarily on inventory of long-lead or high-value parts on hand. Or is there something else that would constrain end of production firmly to a date on the calendar (e.g., January 2024), versus parts on hand?

I am old enough to remember the GM strike in 72. If memory serves, it was the lowest production year of any second gen Camaro, which had an eleven year run.

Hopefully, GM does with Camaro what they did with Impala. Just extend production to fill orders past a certain date range. And then cut it.

GMs ordering process definitely needs updated and revised. It’s disgusting that they allow dealerships to order a car in hopes they get a car. Should be a simple “yes you will get a car” or “no you’re too late”.

That’s what I’m hopeful they do. If I’m not lucky I’m trying to decide what I would like to get. Will it be a used camaro or will I really treat myself to a bmw or something along that line

Hello all. I had a normal 24 ZL1 on order since June.
My dealer called about 3 weeks ago and told me the odds of that order getting picked up was less than 5% per their gm rep.
They had an allocation for a 2SS so I ended up just going with that. It is now at 3000 staus.
I really wanted the ZL1, did I make a mistake not waiting and was my dealer accurate that very very few ZL1's will be allocated any more for 24?
Thanks in advance for any insights!!

I had an order in for a 23 ZL1 since early November last year, with a $2500 deposit, the dealer assured me they would get allocation. It never got picked up. When we were allowed to order 24's the same order was placed again and I left the deposit in place. It still hasn't been picked up. I found another dealer with a car at 3400 status coming in, so I put a deposit on it. It's on the train so hopefully gets here in a week or so. I'm going to let my existing order with deposit run till they cease production and see what happens. I highly doubt it will get allocated. It certainly seems like dealers that got ZL1 allocations in the past are no longer getting them.

Same story here. Had an order in for a ‘22 ZLE back in 1/14/22 with a $2000 deposit. It rolled into a 2023 model, which rolled into a 2024 model, which is where it currently remains…though all information points to no more ZLE’s being made. Whatever the case, I’m letting it ride.

Meanwhile, I managed to scoop up a brand new “regular” ZL1 with all the same specs that I required.

If you can’t get a ‘24, there are still plenty of ‘23s out there. I really wanted a last-year Camaro, but when it became clear chances were slim I wasn’t going to be able to get one equipped the way I wanted, I bought a similarly equipped ‘23. Since it was built during May ‘23, I can still say, “It was built during the last year of production.”

I placed an order today for a 24 ZL1. The owner of the dealership told me it's likely 50/50 that the order gets accepted, but I thought it was worth a shot. In the meantime I'll keep looking for a 23 or 24 that might become available and meets my specs.

A local dealer has a 23 ZL1 with only 1,200 miles on it, but it's automatic and has a sunroof neither of which I want. The sunroof significantly reduces the headroom. I sat it that car and with the seat all the way down, my head was still touching the frame of the sunroof.

I have a '24 on order but kept looking. I found a '23 with less than a 1000 miles on it and my exact built. It should be here in a few days. If it looks as good as it does on paper I'll take it. Nice savings over the '24 price increase plus the dealer mandatory "Pro Package".

Thanks everyone for your insights. My local dealer has a new 2024 ZL1 convertible in Vivid orange if anyone is interested. It is very cool, but I just do not want a convertible, or I would of bought it instead.
