I have owned my car for over 3 years now. Always filled up with Shell 89 octane thinking I was doing a good thing. Never knew I should have been using Premium until reading this thread. After running a few tankfuls of 93 octane, I did the fuse pull this past weekend and I can say I definitely feel a difference! Shifting from 1st to 2nd felt clumsy before. So much so that I pretty much ignored 1st gear and started using 2nd to take off. Now it is smooth as butter! Other shift points seem smoother as well. Car has more pep. Never had a dyno test or timed run but my A$$ dyno can tell there is a difference!

Thanks PQ and all of the others here for your dedication and contributions to this thread! It's like my car is new all over again!

Dealer put 89 in my 2013, ran two tanks of 93 thru it then fuse pull. GM still has not fixed the computer, car woke up like crazy. I thought they would of learned from my 2010 L99. Oh well the tech did get his butt chewed out for putting 89 in it.

What do you do if the best fuel you can get is 90 octane?

I already have read this thread from the get go.

Why do you assume I haven't?

Because after reading this thread it should be pretty clear that it's not needed with a tune.

Well in fact it is, it was... until a couple two three pages ago where I guy said he did it on a tuned car and he noticed the difference.. so this is why I was unclear whether or not it was needed on a tuned car....
