Don't forget "its" and "it's."

"Look, it's a freaking Camaro!"

"That Toyota's missing its headlight..."

Not really. It's just of a different flavor, same end result.

I actually have a problem with that, even though I know you are correct. I find myself constantly using an apostrophe as an ownership (as if it is the subject of the sentence). I can't think of a specific example, but I always got it wrong in college english papers.

Yeah, you just have to read it out loud to yourself without the apostrophe...

"The cat played with (it's/its) toys."

"The cat played with it is toys"...or "The cat played with its toys."

I used to get those mixed up sometimes until I started doing that.

Here's a couple:

1. The word is probably. Not, prolly.

2. The plural of Camaro is: Camaros. There's no apostrophe.
Correct: I saw a fleet of Camaros in the rail yard.
Incorrect: I saw a fleet of Camaro's in the rail yard.
Using an apostrophe before the "s" makes it possessive.
Correct: The Camaro's styling has several heritage cues.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Whoops....I just did a search for examples of that usage and look what I found! Sorry!

This thread makes me laugh. Perhaps I should point you toward a Counterstrike or CoD:MW board to clean it up. This board contains veritable rocket-scientists in comparison. Half the reason I like it here is because I so rarely see a 'sentence' like:

LoL DoOdZ, me and CapnApAcH3 soooo pwnd u luzerz in the CROTCH hahaha-lern to snip n00bz!
