What are the best gill stripes/inserts?

I am wanting to install some gill stripes/inserts on my 2011 IOM but have heard/seen some horror stories. I want something that looks nice from a distance and close.

got mine from http://www.mnpcustoms.com/ and the install was easy and they look good from afar and up close and haven't showed any signs of wear after washing, waxing and road wear & tear

I actually ordered them from MNP tried to install them without using a liquid solution and they just got stuck and stretched so they were garbage so I emailed them about it and they sent me replacements free of charge with install instructions and now they look great

Not sure about horror stories as they are usually just vinyl and can peel right off if you don't like them. There are a lot to choose from on ebay and other places. I have these and like them.

I agree. If you are sure you want them get them painted on by a reputable shop. If you are not sure get the decals and try them out and then if you decide you want the stripes then get them painted on. Just my $.02.

I have the ones that fade. I think they add depth. Don't remember where we got them from. Will look when I get home tonight.

Mine are from RPI designs. They're inexpensive, strong and look great. I get a lot of compliments on them.

"fade" vinyl decals from SLP, I wouldn't paint anything on until you try at least one set of vinyl, paint is permanent.

depends on what you are looking for. I have a balck car with a fair amount of chrome on it so I went with the aluminum insetrs that have been chromes from Pirate Chrome. They were expensive but very high quality. I am glad I went with them.

While I get that not everyone likes the look , I like the ones from SLP the best. Even the painter who did my Anvil spoiler did a double take when he saw the SLP ones before he realized they were vinyl. Of course, then he offered to airbrush the look on for me when I wanted to make it a bit more permanent.

have fades myself, there freaky how real they look until you look really close and even then there not overly obvious. can't remember where I got them but if you google fade grill incert vinyl it will probably come up. they were inexpensive and so far they have been durable, more durable than I ever expected. figured I would have to replace them every two years but 2.5 years in and they still look like new.
